Which MCU movie gets way more criticism than it deserves?
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think Eternals gets far more criticism than it deserves.
No, it’s not a perfect movie. The pacing is uneven, and trying to introduce ten new heroes in one film was always going to be difficult. But I think people overlook what it actually did well.
The cinematography is some of the best in the MCU, the scale felt genuinely epic, and it tried something different instead of following the usual Marvel formula. I also appreciated that it explored bigger themes like humanity, free will, purpose, and what it means to interfere with history. Not every MCU movie needs to be nonstop jokes and action.
I also think the cast did a solid job, and several of the Eternals had interesting dynamics that deserved more time to develop. If this story had been told as a Disney+ series instead of a single movie, I think many of the criticisms about character development would have been much smaller.
I’m curious—what’s the biggest reason Eternals didn’t work for you? Or do you think it’s become one of the MCU’s most underrated movies over time?
What’s one MCU opinion you have that you think most fans would disagree with?
I’ll go first
I wanted to like the new Fantastic Four movie, but it just didn’t work for me. The visuals were impressive, and the cast did a solid job, but I never felt emotionally invested in the story. A lot of the character development felt rushed, and some of the dialogue came across as flat. By the end, I felt like the movie was more focused on setting up future MCU projects than telling a memorable story on its own.
Maybe I’m in the minority, but I walked away feeling underwhelmed. For those of you who loved it, what did you think it did really well? I’m genuinely interested in hearing different perspectives.
