No mile is too short

No mile is too short

I’m re posting my activity because most of the comments I received were … technically I didn’t run a 5k.
I shared my story of how hard it was to start running in the first place. I shared how far I’ve come and the obstacles I went through. But all that was pointed out was I didn’t run a 5k.
This is a story for beginner runners because no matter how fast or far you go, no matter if you’re on the treadmill or outside, no matter the shoes you have or gels you consume .. there will ALWAYS be people trying to discourage you.
I’m proud of this run and I hope all the other runners out there giving their all are proud of themselves too cause this is hard work.

Finally under Sub 30 !!!

This is a HUGE accomplishment for me. I remember getting on the treadmill for the first time and I couldn’t even walk for 10 min without getting out of breath. I remember I had to hold on to the railing so I can push forward.
I changed my diet, my lungs got better and I kept showing up. Then I started to run and ohh man that was hard. But I fell in love with it. My goal was to run straight for 5 min, then 10 then 15. Then I got the guts to run not only longer but faster!
Today I reached one of my goals of finishing 3 miles under 30min.
My 2nd half marathon is Aug 22. Wish me luck!

Never camera shy

Berry is honestly just the best. Also his enclosure was one of my favorites to build.
I still can’t believe someone left him abandoned in an apartment. They just moved out and left him inside a 20 gal fish tank with a dog bowl full of water. He was living on paper towel.
All I want to give him is the best life possible, starting with a 5 foot bioactive enclosure. He is the sweetest sausage with legs I have ever had.

Who is this cute chonk?

I seen this animal late afternoon during my run in the park in the Bronx. He stood very still and didn’t move a muscle even after I passed. I was thinking it’s a beaver or maybe a woodchuck?

Shelving

For a bearded dragon tank that is 4x2x2 what size shelf should I get that is similar to the one in the picture? To hold a massive amount of dirt and rocks I would need something heavy duty. Maybe a 53 inch wide shelf but I can’t seem to find any?

Methods of cleaning

For my bearded dragon tank I’m going bioactive with a custom foam background. This is one piece I made and he decided to poop on it. What’s the best method of cleaning this without having to remove the entire hide?

First day of summer 10k

Ran a 10k race today in Queens. Any tips for running in the heat. I want to get faster. I wore shorts for the first time, sports bra and my running vest. I also had on sunscreen and my visor. I guess I shouldn’t go for a PR in 85 degrees.
