CPU blocked kicks

I don’t really buy into the “scripted games” bit, but to me, blocked field goals seem to be the most obvious sign of it if it exists. It’s probably 3 out of every 5 FGs, late in the game when I need 3 to win or tie, I’ll nail the arrow and meter, but my kicker will hesitate and it will get blocked.

Is there a user error thing here or any indication as to why this happens? Or is it just EA doing its best Dikembe Mutombo on me?

Impossible to win Coach of the Year

You’d think back-to-back 12-0 regular seasons at UMass and a trip the CFB Playoff semis would at least get ya on the watchlist … bugged?

Bear Bryant COTY Award

What’s it take to win this thing? Back-to-back 12-0 regular seasons at UMass and I can’t even get on the damn watchlist.

Takeaways after finishing first RB RTG

I played as a contact seeking RB. Was a 2star that signed as a 4 star after high school. Declared for NFL after RS Jr. year because my career W&T was shot. Here are some takeaways.

  1. Wear and Tear is a problem that gets a little better when you have purple workhorse and full coach trust but by then it might already be too late. Getting full access to the playbook is key, as it allows you to spell yourself so you don’t get 40 carries and play the whole game in blowout wins, racking up meaningless W&T. Do every practice, even after you get RB1. That coach trust meter has to be full or you won’t be able to finish seasons.

  2. The payoff at the end falls so flat. When you declare for the draft, it’s just … over. It would be cool to be able to become a coach, transfer the save over to dynasty and have it skip forward like 10 years. You could have recruiting bonuses for your position or play style.

  3. Transfer system in RTG is much better this year. I transferred to ND from NC State. I wasn’t the highest rated RB on the roster but I was immediately RB1 after leading the nation in yards at NC State. I was happy with that logic.

  4. I didn’t get to 99 (unless I had Peak fitness and some NIL bonuses) But my 96 was unstoppable. Even on Heisman. Running is kind of easy if you know how to follow blocks. I averaged 11 yards per carry my last season.

  5. Weekly agenda felt much more manageable this year. By Year 2 I had most meters mostly full. Though it was annoying to have my Academics meter full, then get straight Bs on finals. I never had a 4.0 GPA despite the meter always being full or next to full.

Game mode was better than I expected though I’m not sure if I’ll run it back at a more challenging position.

Local journalism folks, what’s the biggest issue your newsroom is facing right now?

Outside of the obvious ones that we are facing as an industry as a whole, I’d love to hear some challenges local newsrooms are facing.

I work at a small paper that has more editors, copy editors and digital/social editors than it does reporters. We seem to be very caught up in “trending content” vs. actual reporting and hard hitting news.

Data me and another reporter have put together largely shows that our news pieces drive more traffic, but we are dismissed because “trending content” is the future. The head of our newsroom, who has been in the biz for 30 years and should know better, has completely lost the plot journalistically, in my opinion.

My idea for bringing fans into the fold — Bob Does Sports Challenge Cup

To Jets point on the pod, I don’t think BDS vs. 3 fans scramble has any kind of entertainment value. They need to get creative with it.

I think they should turn the Breezy Invitational into the BDS qualifier and hold three challenges. An eating challenge, a drinking challenge and a straight up golf challenge. The winner of each challenge gets put together on a 3-man group and gets to take on Bobby and the boys in the BDS Challenge Cup, which is essentially just a series of challenges similar to the qualifier with points attached to each.

3v3 27 hots dogs in 9 holes, every dog under 27 is a stroke added. Puking adds a stroke. Do the same with a drinking challenge. Then do a speed challenge or something.

Logistically that kind of a qualifier is probably not possible. But this would be an interesting way to get fans involved instead of just randomly selecting some fans online.

I think everyone has missed the point on this latest Hater episode

TLDR: Don’t care Joe broke a rule but it’s unacceptable to act like that and it’s just as much Bob’s fault.

I don’t know if it’s a bit but the people offended by Joey D “cheating” and ruining “the integrity of the game” have completely missed what was unacceptable about that episode.

If you watch BDS for by-the-book golf, I don’t know what to tell you. Yes, he broke a rule. But Joe’s not a cheater. He’s an idiot. It’s the way he acted afterward that was completely unacceptable. To the common man, it’s totally fine to fudge a rule, and even to disagree when questioned on it. But to fly off the handle like that was not cool. And it was disappointing to see Bob giggle while filming with his phone rather than intervene in a situation that could have been a lot worse if the hater didn’t keep his cool.

I don’t care if they know the rules. I like a good meltdown as much as the next guy. But I don’t like the whole “oh this is juicy” bit from Bob. In my view, Bob lost as much integrity here as Joe.

I don’t like the hater series, I think it’s Bob (more so than Joe at times) at his worst. Like an exploitative rage bait TikTok boy. Guys, cmon. You made it. You did the thing. We don’t need these rage bait videos. Just please get back to chilling on the golf course.

Oh, still waiting on Bob vs. Joe stroke play episode btw.
