I know Oz has bad writing after season 3, but Poet especially seems like an almost different character. In the early seasons his passion for poetry seemed to define his character, and the black leftist stuff he was saying in his poems seemed to put him in similar ideologies to Said and the Muslims. After he breaks parole like an idiot, he basically stops reciting poetry and becomes just basically another Homeboy strongman (and also a complete bully to a ton of people like the French guy)

The part in season 6 where he tells Rebadow “hey man can I borrow a book? I’m out of toilet paper”

i recently found out that my friends, who were hanging out without me using the excuse that it's a DND campaign they don't have a place for me with, are no longer playing DND and literally just talking and playing Jackbox games but were still excluding me. We went to a music festival in June where they spent all four days making sure i knew how not part of the group i was then denying it to my face and getting angry that i was angry? We're not friends anymore. Very odd and hollow end to a friendship of guys i've known since i was 16 and i'm now 32.

I do have better friends now which is what makes it weird. I never did anything with old friends because they’re gamer nerds who never went outside. I'm out with my new friends at bars and punk shows twice a week and i'm having a lot of fun, i just don't know why it took me till my 30s to find friends like this. Or why guys i've known for two years are better friends than guys i've known for fifteen.

Everyone involved in this story is over the age of 30 abtw lol

I understand that a lot of friendships don’t last this long btw. I know that people change and grow up, but I still valued at least having them in my life as nerd friends. We might have grown apart over the years but this was such an aggressive and sudden change.

Seriously, I had a friend who started a big referendum on my health and sleep because “I stay up all night.” It started off as “jokes” which I tried to play back with saying things like “I do what I want haha cope and seethe”. It got more and more brazen with her though until I snapped and told her to get the fuck out of my business. She got upset, left our group chat, and our mutual friends thought I was too harsh lmao. Btw, it was THE WEEKEND and she barely understands my work schedule. This was two years ago and I now work night shift.

Not trying to turn this into an an AITA post, it’s just funny how much people don’t understand us. You know what the funniest part is? She herself was a third shift nurse but thought only she’s got reason to stay up.

PS stay far far away from any self described “mom friends”. It’s usually code for controlling behavior and zero boundaries.

To a sizable number of people, the term "country music" refers to exactly one type of music and the description is far from flattering. Before i'm even able to finish the sentence "country but not that crap on the radio-" I can already see them eye rolling and checking out lmao. I can say alt country, but even that term confuses people; plus i have a hard time describing Childers and Sierra Ferrell etc. as alt country when they're pretty straight down the middle and just happen to not suck.

I guess I end up just saying folk? No idea, even a lot of artists described as alt country don't sound much alike.

We of course plan on being respectful and discrete. We don't mind driving too, we weren't planning on swimming behind the creekside stage or anything stupid like that.
