How much of your type’s stereotype do you actually relate to?

Is there a cure for being exactly like the stereotype? Js asking 😓

INFJs, when was the last time you cried?

okayyy so I’m an INFP and I’m probably pretty stereotypical in the sense that I cry quite easily 😭

I have a few INFJs around me... and I’ve noticed that some of them seem to struggle with crying... not like they don’t feel things, but more like yk they’ll be going through something and say 'I wish I could cry' or 'the tears just won’t come'

nd I know this obviously isn’t an INFJ-exclusive thing... but I’m curious about how people experience it differently...

when was the last time u cried, and what was it about?

nd if u r someone who struggles to cry... what does that actually feel like? like do u feel the emotion but the tears don’t come, or do u just process it in a different way??

(I’m not trying to make this a personality type thing, I’m just genuinely curious 😭)

I feel like there’s a whole emotional experience here that I’m not understanding lol

My eyes start tearing up before my brain even reacts...

okay this feels kinda vulnerable to post but i genuinely wanna know if anyone else experiences this...

ever since i was younger, whenever someone raised their voice at me a little, joked in a way that hurt, seemed disappointed in me, or i felt embarrassed orrr judged… my eyes would get teary almost immediately...

annd i mean almost automatically... like i wouldn’t even want to cry but my eyes would already start doing their thing 😭

because of that my family/relatives kind of made it into an inside joke (“watch she’s gonna cry now”) and i’d get even more embarrassed because then i actually WOULD cry...after a while i started feeling pathetic for it and became really self conscious.

now i’m better at controlling it in front of people. I look up, leave the room, distract myself, whatever works in the moment. but the weird thing is… i still feel hurt... and then later at night when i think about it again i end up crying anyway.

I know being emotional isn’t a bad thing but i don’t like feeling like my body reacts before i even get to choose.

so I wanted to ask ... does anyone else experience this? why does this happen? and if you’ve gotten better with it, what actually helped???

I don’t wanna become emotionally numb i just don’t wanna tear up every time i feel hurt

(but idk if this is an INFP thing or just a me thing 😭)
