Two negative HSV-1 & 2 blood tests 10 years after a visual diagnosis. Can I still have it?

10 years ago I had sex with someone who didn't disclose. The next day I started developing a rash on my stomach which spread to my genitals and turned into painful blisters. I saw an MD at my school's clinic who took one look and said "yep thats herpes." That was good enough for me and I never got a blood test. The outbreaks were on and off after a few months, then went away and havent come back for 10 years. On a whim, I decided to see which type of HSV I have, so I took a Roche-brand serological assay blood test at my last checkup. It was non-reactive. I said that can't be right. So we repeated the test 8 weeks later. Still negative. I don't know what else those horrible outbreaks could have been 10 years ago, but wouldn't you think I'd have so many antibodies at this point that it would light those tests up like a Christmas tree? What are the chances that I'm positive at this point?

Two negative blood tests 10 years after a visual diagnosis. Can I still have it?

To whoever is listening,

10 years ago I had sex with a woman who didn't disclose. The next day, I noticed some kind of rash or small lesions on my upper pubic area that quickly spread to my junk. They turned into larger, very painful blisters/pustules. I had an MD working at my school's health clinic take one look at the situation and say "yep that's herpes." That was good enough for me so I didnt take a blood test at the time. I had a few secondary outbreaks for a couple months, then they stopped forever. After a while the woman confessed to me that she indeed had been diagnosed with GHSV years ago. 10 years later, on a whim I decided to see what kind of herpes I have. My doctor gave me a blood test (A Roche-brand serological assay). It was negative. Non-reactive. I said that can't be right. So we repeated the test 8 years later. Still negative. As a person living GHSV-positive the past 10 years, I started to see some light at the end of the tunnel after the 2nd result. What are the chances that both non-reactive results are false negatives? One would think after 10 years I'd be full of antibodies and would light that test up like a Christmas tree. But I don't know what else those horrible outbreaks could have been?

GP won't refer

38M. My poop turned flat 3 years ago and never changed back. No family history. GP still won't refer for colonoscopy after 3 years of persistent weird poos. Should I push for one anyway? I trust my GP (I think) but you know, the horror stories...
