Mail Call! - Sueded Caiman's on deck!

Picked up these Dan Post Macara's on eBay, new with tags, for $310 shipped. Been on a bit of a sueded/nubuck Caiman kick lately. I have been circling this particular pair for quite some time but could not find a good deal. I love the matte finish and overall appearance of this pair. D.P. makes a great boot, and I'm excited to add them to my rotation.

I'm in love 😍 - Zelos Mako Meteorite

Picked up this Zelos V3 Mako Meteorite on r/watchexchange. I experienced almost instant buyer's remorse and was actually dreading it's arrival however, all of that melted away as soon as I opened the box. This watch is STUNNING! This is my first meteorite dial and I'm wondering what took me so long to buy one. The unique pattern and ability to catch the light adds a lot of interest. I can't stop looking at it. The build quality on this watch overall is really too notch. I'm impressed.

Side note: I swapped the (incredible) bracelet for an FKM strap I got on AMZ for under $30 dollars. It's identical to a blue shark strap at less than half the cost. I can't post links but, you'll find it searching for FKM watch straps.

New Hat, New Boots, Delayed Flight!

I'm bored at the airport, posting all over the place... Enjoy my new boots and hat with matching rattler hat band... :)

New Customs directly from the source!

Had some custom boots made by an independent guy out in Leon named Ivan Martinez.

These are matted Caimán and Cascabel which is the South/Central American species of Rattlesnake. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Been a great hat week for me. Received a hell of a custom, a Sage OR and picked up this vintage resistol 5x beaver for around $100 on Marketplace. Came in virtually unworn condition with the original box and all.

New to me Horsepower Top Hand Oak Caimans

Picked these up on eBay for $250 shipped. They are in nearly unworn condition. I hit them with some Bick4 and Angelus reptile, plus a good buffing, before putting them on. I love the look, color, and finish on these Caimans. I will say they fit SNUG. I wear a 12d and had to remove their insole. Even still, they are quite the chore to get on and off. I'll save the insole for some other shoes that run large. Either way, these are $ 400 to $ 600 boots online. I think I did well!

Scar on Cody James Caimans

I noticed this scar on the outside of the left boot's vamp the other day. Do you think it could progress into a hole or get larger with normal "office and dinner" type wear? Should or can anything be done? If so, what?

Thoughts on these modifications?

I bought these old DP lizards on eBay for like $70 dollars. Since they were cheap, I was willing to experiment, so I had a cobbler convert them to fit slimmer jeans... I asked if he could add zippers, but he strongly suggested that the only way to do it was to cut the shafts and install Velcro. His argument was that they would bunch up real bad if we split the shaft and narrowed them with zippers instead of setting them up to fold over, like you see in the pictures.

Thoughts? Truthfully, it does work... and they aren't uncomfortable, but I'm wondering if there is a better way that doesn't essentially require recrafting the whole boot?

Im talking to a guy I met on FB in one of the boot groups. He's been on the group for a long time and has been posting custom boot builds for 2 or 3 years. I was able to exchange messages with a recent customer who was extremely satisfied with what he received.

Im pretty confident in the transaction but, just in case I figured I'd post here to see if anyone has worked with him.

Thanks!!!
