How to get into Hunt? In need of tips

Hello everyone,

After sleeping on this game for some time now I am very tempted to jump in after watching some videos on yt.

I am in need on some tips how to get into it and best way to approach it

For my gaming experience I have been playing fps games for 20years…. CS for about 8k hrs and got into extraction shooters only this year

Started with Arc with about 300hrs, then Arena Breakout with about 100hrs (didnt really like it) and then the final boss Tarkov with about 700hrs ( so I know what pain is 🤣)

Also if there are some people that want to take me along I wouldnt mind 😁

I am 27yo, EU based, very chill guy

Cheers guys and happy hunting

[Discussion] For anyone still wondering how to get direct access to Icebreaker

There is already plenty of guides on how to unlock Icebreaker and start questline so no point of writing it down but if you have questions I dont mind answering.

After you unlock Icebreaker what you need to do in order to start questline for unlocking direct access from lobby instead of transit and how to get questline done⏬️

‼️SHORT VERSION OF GUIDE:

Tranist to Icebreaker> Reach chained door from posted image> Extract > Talk to Mechanic and Prapor > Talk to BTR Driver even it doesnt say you have to> Do his 4 step questline > Direct access unlocked without any time gates

‼️MORE IN DETAIL STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

▶️Transit to Icebreaker from shoreline make sure you have 400 000 roubles for transit to Icebreaker and 2400€ for extract(be aware of rats and using smokes on pier while transiting is well recomended also sanitar has increased spawn rate but I am pretty sure if you run beach side straight to pier you dont need to kill him)

▶️Reach chained door (shown on picture) behined which is new boss located on Icebreaker

Make sure to follow your main questline progress on quest tab while you are progressing through map so you do all steps at one run

▶️You need to clear rougues + knight > Engine room with BD (in solos 6 of them) > clear helipad also BD (3 of them), now you can already extract with heli but focus on misson…. Next you need to > clear BD under helipad (dont know exact number but 6-9)> reach locked door (another 3BD on stairways)> MAKE SURE YOUR NEXT STEP ON MAIN QUESTLINE SAYS “Talk to Mechanic” > run back to helipad and extract with green flare (Takes about 1min to extract and 2400€ make sure you have it on you)

🔴Its shortly what to expect in order to get it done if you want to really go prepared in and increase your chance of surviving I recomend watching some streamers VODs doing it and how to postion your self, where AI is as they are really challenging. I personally like Tigz as he is doing it pretty clean with some very useful tips but its up to you who you prefer. (Make sure to watch newest VODs as they made bunch of changes to AI since first day of Icebreaker)

▶️After this you need to: talk to Mechanic > Talk to Prapor

🔴Now even it doesnt say anywhere you need to do this step you need to: Run to BTR driver and talk to him and he gives you 4 step questline (I recommend Woods and run straght to Checkpoint, I got it spawn there 7 out of 8 times at 31:45min to 29min mark, not sure if its worth waiting after that as your chance of dying will increase longer you wait as a lot of people are trying to do same and BTR coming is not guranteed to come at this point so I perosanlly like to just take flare extract)

▶️Kill 30 Rougues (IMO Lighthouse is best) > Talk to BTR driver
> Mark transit to Lighthouse from Woods, Transit to Lighthouse from Woods, Mark transit from Lighthouse to Woods >Extract (This step you can do instantly after talking to BTR driver and turning in first quest with 30rogue kills so just bring 2 markers and go to woods for BTR also can instantly transit back to woods after you marked everything and go for BTR)
> Talk to BTR driver>Extract

> Deliver BTR driver 2moonshines, 4vodkas, 4crutons, 2sausages> SURVIVE and Extract (not aware what happends if you die after turning all of this in)

> Go back to talk to BTR driver> Extract> Direct access to Icebreaker unlocked (Access still requires 400,000 roubles in order to play it and 2,400€ to extract)

▶️I hope it will help some people as one day ago I could not find any useful information on how to unlock direct access after they made it easier and patched it so I am not aware if anyone already made guide for new easier way but here it is.

⭕️As new player since 1.0 it feels good I can hopefully help some of you this way and give back to community after a lot of people have been helping me through my short but fun 500hrs journey in city of Tarkov which will only get bigger with years and hopefully one day I will be one leading instead of being leaded♥️

Cheers my dear Tarkov enjoyers and godspeed 🫡

Make sure to like this post so it reaches higher auidence and easier to find for people who need to find it

[New Player] Is labs good for getting good at pvp?

Is labs good for improving my pvp skills?

I am about 450hrs in since 1.0 and I feel kinda tired of how bad I am at pvp but I still see improvment since I started like a lot.

I dont panic when I hear footsteps, I think clear in 1v1s but I still get outplayed almost always.

And even if I win 1-2 fights I never manage to extract with loot since I get rolled by someone else.

I have 0.8 k/d not sure how good it is for my hours

Currently lvl41, have about 50m fluid money + some gear in stash and I have 0 gear fear just tired of losing every fight

I am in hope that there will be more new players in current character servers when seasonal characters drop so I can grind against people of my skill level instead of chads.

Is it possible? Do you think permant characters will drag more new players in and move chads to seasonal or its unrealistic?

This post is more related to people who have played competitive games 10-15 years ago.

I keep seeing a lot of post, comments etc by people which I assume are pretty young (I am almost 30) saying oh dont play this game its so toxic

Man I remember playing cod, cs, dota back in days and you have no idea what toxic means its not even 10% of what it used to be. Now most of young people dont even use their mics cuz we all got too asocial due to technology

But bro back than I had every game atleast 2 people screaming at mic for whole game with bunch of slurs to sometimes me sometimes my other teammates

It was just different kinda miss it especially russians, I dont counter them that much as it used to be

Not to mention back in CSGO when on half time was open mic for both teams so you have 10 people screaming at each other for 10-15s worst thing they can think of

Ahhh good old days
