He's a messenger (watercolor and pencil portrait)
- Who is he?
- A pilot. A soldier... Tell me what you saw?
- I sense the weight of things, things I can't see. Pain, fear... need. Most beings carry the things that shaped them. They carry the past. But some... very few... your pilot... They're gathering as they go. There's a purpose to it. He's a messenger. There's some place he needs to be.
This was one of the absolute most heartbreaking moments in Season 2 for me. Still not sure how I ended up turning it into a painting, but it just demanded to be drawn 💔
Ferrix Cassian
To be honest, it took me a little time to truly see Cassian back in those first episodes. But looking at him now... I have so much love for this guy from Ferrix.
One of the most emotional Cassian portraits I've ever created
Fun fact about this piece: when I picked the reference, I didn’t immediately remember the scene, I just loved the emotion. But when I chose the quote for this post, I picked Maarva’s message via Brasso.
“Tell him, none of this is his fault. It was already burning. He's just the first spark of the fire... Tell him that I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong.”
And damn, it turns out that was the exact moment I drew. This just added another layer of heartbreak for me ❤️🩹
Made with colored pencils on black paper.
Hope you like it!
Cassian Andor portrait
Took me a while, but I’m finally here on Reddit! Considering this man will probably appear here a lot, it feels right to start with Cassian😌
