Really bad performance on DirectX 12 (PC)

As the title says. In a situation where I get 110+ FPS on directx 11, using equivalent graphics settings on ultra+, I will get below 60FPS on directx 12. I've been trying to fix this for literally over a year now when I first got the game and it's annoying me so much, since I'm unable to run ray tracing with such a low amount of performance before it (I get below 30fps with ray tracing). I've tried:

  • Disabling freesync
  • Updating/rolling back graphics drivers (has persisted for over a year so old ones won't help)
  • Using DDU
  • Switching between borderless and fullscreen
  • Changing graphics settings
  • Contacting support (not much help when they take 4 days between replies to say something like try disabling overclocking)

I'm not going to settle just playing on dx11, because I bought the game with the intention of running maxed rt as per the official requirements. All driver settings at default by the way. Also, I have noticed complaints about having heavy CPU requirements on dx12, but my GPU is maxed at 100% so I'm not cpu bound at all.

My PC's specs are:

  • Intel Core i7-11700F
  • AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB
  • 32GB RAM
  • MSI MAG B560 Tomahawk WiFi
  • 3440x1440 175Hz FreeSync monitor

Bungie please add a way to replay the "Me and You, Big Blue" triumph cutscene

I have literally never been more emotional from a moment in any video game before, seeing the true final sendoff for a game I have played, enjoyed and hated for so many years. I am very sad that I won't ever be able to see that cutscene again though, unless I watch a low quality youtube video with someone else's guardian. If anyone at bungie reads this, I beg you to add a way to rewatch the cutscene, perhaps from the timeline or an interactable in Zavala's office.

Ray tracing still broken in alan wake 2 on rx 7000

New driver update today, unfortunately Alan Wake 2 is still broken (crashes every 2 minutes) when RT is used on RX 7000. Very disappointing as I've submitted multiple bug reports, contacted both Epic Games and AMD support, nothing. I haven't tested it in a while but I believe the same bug is still present in The Witcher 3 with ray tracing so AMD really needs to get their shit together with these drivers.

As the title says, for non-Nvidia PC users all the AA options looks quite bad. All the options currently available are:

  • No AA (pixelated jagged mess)
  • TAAU (ugly smeared picture, looks like someone dropped a freshly painted painting)
  • TSR (Better than TAAU, still huge amount of ghosting and massive FPS hit)
  • FSR (shimmery as fuck)
  • XeSS (sharper but still really shimmery and blurry)
  • DLAA is exclusive to Nvidia cards. FSR 4 is also quite good apparently but restricted to only the absolute newest AMD cards.

Honestly picking any of the options available to me (I own an AMD 7000 series GPU) all lead to a fairly unenjoyable experience. IMO Embark should dedicate some effort to either massively improving the default temporal AA or adding a high-quality post process AA such as SMAA, which would be a lot easier. Relying on DLAA/DLSS is poor developer practice that a lot of game developers have picked up on. Embark needs to prove they are not that kind of developer.
