Colin woke up...early...it was midnight...he had another dream of his mother, his eyes widened as he shot up from where he had been laying down...seeing Annie next to him...asleep...he sighed...what was he doing? he needed to do better...as a fighter...and as a hero. He laid a blanket over Annie and put on the jacket Jubilee had given him...according to her it was supposed to be able to handle explosions...he didn't know if yellow was his color though.

He opened his window...and jumped, landing flat on his face "ack-" he groaned before scrambling up, and limping over to the woods as his body slowly healed...walking normally as he finally arrived in the woods...he breathed in and out...before beginning to train. for hours...blasting around the forest, going faster and faster and faster, he could feel his arms crack and break...but it didn't matter...he had to improve.

He then moved on to card throwing...even if Aizaru called him a cheap knockoff...he had to admit...gambit did have a good idea with it, they had helped him against his brother...so for hours he threw a deck of cards at a tree...and failing miserably. He sighed "how does he do it?" he said

He later moved on to punching a tree...delivering each punch with a powerful explosion...as he felt his knuckles be shredded apart...he could hear his mother's voice...haunting him from his nightmares why did you let me die Colin? why did you let me die..." he punched harder and harder "YOU LET ME DIE COLIN YOU LET ME DIE!" the voice shouted in his head as he yelled and delivered a final punch to the tree...sending it back several yards...as his knuckles looked almost unrecognizable...slowly healing, and as the morning light was turning blue...he had a feeling that could only be described as...bizarre. The shadows kept him pretty like a movie star as he breathed heavily...a few...small tears rolling down his face as he had an expression that could only be described as a mix of angry...determined...sad...lonely...and desperate...

After a night of driving...Colin, Annie, Grey and Aizaru had all finally made it home...to Xavier's. Colin stopped his vehicle just a few feet away from the school, the army of vehicles with the other now released inmates behind them. Colin stepped out, the scarf Sai had given him blowing in the wind as he walked towards the school...Annie, Grey and Aizaru following behind.

And as they walked...the inmates joined them, following behind Colin's lead as he walked up to the front door of Xavier's, breathing in and out, and nervously opened it...stepping inside and seeing everything, the dorms, the classrooms, the kitchen...he finally made it...he was home...

Colin is on a bench outside of frost university...drawing, a notebook and pencil in hand as he sketches. Whistling a bit as he did so...in a state of complete focus...zoned in on his sketches...ignoring everything going on around him. He looked at what he had been drawing...architecture...beautiful designs, ornate, simple yet complex, elegant and sophisticated...they were incredible...

He sighed, adjusting his reading glasses...he wore them every time he sketched or read...it helped him see the finer details better...he smiled softly...genuinely as he drew...genuinely enjoying the moment.

Julie walked through the streets of metropolis…it was a new place, i-it was nice though. she walked around, taking everything in, the sound, the scents all around…the architecture…it was beautiful

she walked into a shop, purchasing a smoothie, and leaving. she drank while she walked, putting on a pair of cracked sunglasses as to protect her eyes as she walked around and explored this new city…this new environment

Colin and Annie had decided to go stargazing tonight…together, Colin had brought her out to his car and they drove off, relaxed for the first couple miles until Annie messed with the radio, turning on one specific song…we didn’t start the fire “there it is…” Colin said chuckling a bit before singing “we didn’t start the fire, no we didn’t light it but we’re tryna fight it,… Birth control, Ho Chi Minh, Richard Nixon back again

As Colin parked his car, opening the door for Annie and leading her to a field of grass, laying down. Annie looked down at him in slight confusion “why are you doing this?” She asked “to see the stars…here just give it a shot“ Colin responded before annie laid down on her back, looking up at the night sky…as both of them just let time pass, taking in the moment

colin walked to a graveyard with a bouquets of flowers in his hand…for one specific grave…he went to a gravestone and kneeled down the name reading “Sidney Hartfelt” he sighed, looking at the words written on the grave, a couple of tears building up in his eyes.

he felt the wind blow along his skin, his jacket flowing in the wind as he stayed on his knees…she had spent her life making music, after he finally met her he thought the songs would never end…now it was so quiet, all he wanted to do was hear her voice again, she had fought to protect him…and when the dust settled in Chicago she had stayed at rest…memories flashed through his mind…watching movies with her, her teaching him how to fight.…

he set the flowers down at her grave, a couple of tears rolling down his face…as a few words escaped his mouth, his voice quiet, soft and full of grief…”I’m so sorry mom…” he said, just staying there on his knees, the wind blowing as he grieved, silently crying

colin...was still recovering, whilst stuck in the medbay he wondered what he could do with his time? he was essentially benched and kept from doing any form of vigilante activities while he recovered...he looked down at where his stomach should be, a machine attached to his body keeping him alive, he sighed looking at it...this felt horrible.

"I need to figure something out" he said, his normally smooth and charismatic voice now hoarse, and raspy from the damage he had received in the fight, he picked up a box and opened it...there was his suit, burnt to a crisp and shredded to pieces, his goggles or what was left of them were shattered, the hole where he was punched through the stomach in his suit still stained with blood...he sighed before putting it away and just leaning back, staring at the ceiling, trying to think of something to do whilst here

Colin…was in the medbay, no surprise there. after hours of surgery, he was left in a bed there unconscious, multiple IV bags hooked up to him, and he was connected to a heart monitor, his heart beating…slowly, silently…there was no beat, no melody. as he lay there.

multiple machines were hooked up to where the hole in his torso was, helping to keep him alive, the bed singed from the heat that emitted from his body. after his battle with Robert Colin was left the closest to death he had ever been.

bandages were wrapped around his body where it had been horribly burned and casts were placed on his right arm and left leg after they were broken, his hair was a mess and his eyes were wrapped in bandages after his goggles had shattered in the fight

he stayed there…motionless…his body holding on for dear life as it recovered

After the battle was seemingly done…robert Hartfelt stood tall as the victor, looking at the group of defeated heroes, broken wills, hope seemingly lost as he began to speak, grinning like a maniac with his army of cultists backing him.

"you think you can tread upon the same path with beasts such as I, I'm sure you had fun playing heroes, but this isn't some game...even if you strike this old wound, I won't feel it, sit your asses down and give up ya damn rookies, like sidney did" Robert spoke as lightning crackled around him

meanwhile Colin was in a crater, body broken until he awoke, stumbling up and out of the crater and seeing his father, his friends and family all injured at his hand he had to do something, he tried to move but it was like he couldn’t until he thought about everything he had been through, hydra, genosha, the juggernaut, apocalypse…he didn’t give up then and he wouldn’t give up now

news helicopters circled the wreckage and the oncoming battle as Colin showed the world his strength of will

he placed a fist onto the ground and began to absorb oxygen, his body heating up as smoke began to emit from him, and he ran, into the fight and with one blast he was flying in the air and he laughed it was as if the world could hear this drumming in his heartbeat and a rhythm in his bones and as he flew through the air shining like the sun through the clouds in the sky a laugh echoed across the city of Chicago “HA HA HA” he smiled, as he blasted towards Robert knocking him back and across the city, now visible to his allies, explosions popping all across his body, his eyes an amber color and orange sparks crackling across his skin

the young x-men’s leader had returned and he spoke with a strong and powerful tone “you guys take care of my fathers cultists I got Robert“ he said before blasting to battle his father, leaving the heroes to deal with the army of cultists in chicago

OOC: trigger warning real quick this is a VERY violent post/ fight I wanted to warn you all before this, I did not draw anything from it but yeah I wanted to put this in beforehand

Robert had brought Colin and Sidney to Chicago for one important thing…to show them his cult of followers, Colin was dressed in his x-uniform as requested by Robert and as he and his mother walked into the room, hundreds of mutants cheering at the sight of them, their eyes immediately widened with shock, confusion and fear “R-Robert…what is this?” Sidney asked in fear “the future, think about it with this following worshiping us, backing us at every moment in battle we can take over as mutants, we have the chance to be more than heroes or singers or tv hosts…we have the chance to be gods” Robert replied smiling…as if he had lost every last bit of his sanity, both Colin and Sidney looked at him in fear before Colin spoke up”n-no dad this isn’t how we do things…you gotta be being controlled, manipulated SOMETHING“ Robert’s smile faded a bit “war is coming…your either with me…or against me” Robert replied coldly, electricity crackling in his fist, Sidney’s eyes widened as she stepped between Colin and Robert “Colin…run“ she said before charging an explosion into her foot and kicking Robert in his ribs, where a scar was revealed from a previous battle.

robert glared at Sidney before immediately grabbing her neck and in less than a second…a snap could be heard as Sidney’s body fell limp “m-mom…” was the only thing Colin could say in shock, fear and grief…he stood still for a moment before looking back at Robert “now I know this looks bad-“ Robert began to say before being cut off by an explosion sending him through a wall by Colin, robert emerged from the smoke, his hair a mess as he brushed rubble off his shoulder ”fine…have it that way” he said before delivering a punch to Colin’s stomach sending him out of the building before picking him up and flying away

across the Arizona desert he dragged Colin, sending him through anything in their path before eventually throwing him into the air, teleporting above him he delivered a kick to Colin’s face sending him miles away as Robert continued his assault, Colin helplessly began to try to fight back sending explosion after explosion towards Robert for hours but it was no use…as Robert sent him back to Chicago eventually, landing in the middle of the street creating a crater as news helicopters began to record the scene, Robert punching Colin repeatedly, beating him further into the ground before finally speaking again “what’s another 16 years? I can always start again, a new family, make another kid” he continued his assault as the world watched before he stopped…everything fell silent as he stood up, blood covering his fists and Colin…stumbled back up, coughing up a mix of blood and his own teeth “I can’t let you hurt anyone“ he said, his voice broken before Robert coldly stared at him “you fight for these mortals, they call gods such as us mutants, and you fight for them? Why do you do this? we‘ll outlast every insignificant being in this planet, you’ll watch humanity crumble to dust and blow away! what will you have after everything you know and love is gone!”

colin tried to deliver a lunch to Robert but Robert grabbed his arm…and within a small squeeze snapped it, before delivering a punch to his stomach…his fist going through his body and out of his back, Colin dropped to the ground, his body falling limp as he looked up at Robert, unable to speak or move at the moment …and Robert through the smoke and rubble blasted the news helicopters with lightning, cutting the broadcast short

OOC: feel free to fight Robert! this is part one of this event and be ready for whoever fights him to get their ahh beat but yeah go get him! This is super exciting thank you to the mods for allowing me to write this event, I am excited for the climax to finally be happening and I hope you all enjoy it and yeah byeee :D

Colin and Sidney had both decided to just relax and spend some time together while Robert was in Chicago, so they agreed to watch a few horror films together. Colin smiled putting popcorn kernels into a pot along with some oil, heating it with his powers causing the kernels to pop “ya know…i have not thought to do that with my powers to be honest” Sidney said chuckling a bit at her son‘s use of his powers “yeah I tested the idea a while ago…it comes in handy” Colin replied walking over to the couch sitting down.

sidney sat next to him turning on the tv and starting a horror film (idk which film lmao) and both smiled as they binged horror films together, just taking the night off and relaxing

”that’s it for today and remember you can trust us with your news” Robert said in a charismatic tone before the camera stopped rolling, every time it happened it was as he changed his name when they hit the lights, as if he lost himself in the paradise that was being watched by the world…it made him feel…powerful.

he left the studio they were using and within a flash of lightning he was gone, across the city of Chicago where he appeared again in front of a building…walking in it was as if everything stood still, all eyes were on him as he adjusted his tie and walked into a room, fixing his hair a bit and his expression changed, from kind and charismatic, with his typical charming smile to something more….sinister

walking into a room he allowed his mind to wander, to where he had started as a simple weatherman, 1952…the year he began to build his empire, he had killed the main news anchor at his station, then in 1957 a local talk show host, 62 it was the cooking network, 67 was the animal network, for years and years he had chased their cheers, the crazy speed of always needing more to the point they called him “the god of entertainment“…a god…something about that felt amazing, that feeling of power was something he loved and something he’d do nothing to achieve

he walked into a room, hundreds of mutants looked up at him, as he began to speak “for far too long we have stood by and let humanity slaughter our own! keeping us down! well we are not gonna be kept down anymore, in just a few days the world itself will watch as we show our true might!“ the hundreds of mutants who looked up at him cheered, applauded as Robert smiled, finally…it was only a few days away, he’d show the world who he was meant to be, they wouldn’t believe their eyes when he brought them to their knees to worship him, and he’d shine brighter than ever before
