Colin and Robert had taken some time to fly into the clouds together, to talk, both men stood back to back as Robert threw a baseball into the distance "you seem tired" Robert said "I'm fine just...I got a lot on my mind" Colin replied "okay so...what is it?" Robert questioned "your probably just gonna keep prying if I'm evasive at all so...um I'm scared dad, what if I can't do this whole hero thing? o-or if I can't help in the fight for mutant equality?" as Colin spoke the sound of an object coming towards him could be heard "you hear it? get ready" Robert told his son as the baseball he had thrown flew into his hand, as Colin caught it Robert spoke "were you nervous?" "yeah...a little" Colin said and Robert spoke "but you caught it, being a superhero, fighting for mutants it's similar to that, this is the beginning of a long journey kid, trust me I've been on it for over 70 years, and along the way your gonna need to do things you might not want to do or might not think you can do, it's okay to be scared, it's natural to doubt yourself, but what I want you to do is push through that and do what needs to be done...if you can do that, you'll achieve greatness, you think you can do that?"

"Yeah..." colin responded before throwing the baseball into the distance using an explosion before after a couple of minutes it flew into Robert's hand as he caught it. "Son kids your age think they can do anything and be fine, as if they have the power to be unstoppable, but the thing is you are different, we actually are unstoppable, if we put the work in and show the world how we can achieve greatness" he handed the ball to Colin as smoke still came off of it

Colin looked at the ball before smiling a bit "yeah...understood" Robert smiled back at his son before speaking again "now come on, lets get some more training in to show the world how you will shine brighter than those to come before and after you”

Colin and Sidney had yet again went into the forest at night with the goal in mind of helping Colin using his powers, both shared a mutation so they both felt it would be right for him to learn under his mother. "so what did you want to learn?" Sidney asked her son "I want to learn to use my mutation to its true potential, my team and I came up with the idea of using it to coat my whole body in heat" Colin replied.

Sidney thought for a moment before speaking "you know that feeling of when we use our mutation and generating heat with it? typically in the palms and feet, try to do that but spread it evenly throughout your body" Colin nodded as he focused, the typically warming sensation along his palms and feet as his powers activated, until he began to focus, spreading the feeling all along his body, it was draining as he feel to the ground, placing a fist down for support as smoke began to emit from all across his body, his body temperature increasing before eventually it stopped and colin stood up, drained "I-I don't think I can hold that for much longer...sorry" Colin said looking off to the side. Sidney looked at her son for a moment before placing a hand on his shoulder "hey...its okay, it took me years to master my mutation in my own way, you'll get it kay?" "yeah..." Colin replied

Sidney smirked a bit "hey I'll teach you how I fight" "w-wait what...really?" colin responded to his mother's statement. "of course, I'd love to" Sidney said smiling "alright...how do we do this?" Colin questioned his mother. Sidney grabbed her phone and scrolled through her playlist before putting on a song "loosen up a bit, like your dancing" she said smirking "what...why?" Colin asked "Cause it's how I fight" Sidney said before a strike to her son's chest "ack- okay okay fine" Colin said before loosening up and moving his body to the sound of the music, feeling each beat. Sidney smirked at her son before joining in "okay now I want you to keep this up while we spar kay bud?" "got it" colin said trying to hold back a bit of laughter, Sidney again delivered a strike to her son's chest, colin this time dodging, both of the two smiled at each other before continuing to deliver attacks to each other, appearing as if it was a dance between the two, fluid and flexible, until they both began to emit sparks with each strike and dodge, illuminating the area of the forest they were in

for hours the two sparred, smiling and laughing with each other as they did so in this hybrid of dancing and fighting, Colin continuing to grow with his mutation with each moment in the fight as they trained together

OOC: this is open interaction and a MAJOR setup for something later on, as for the song they listen to while they begin to spar probably war by Edwin Starr, but yeah feel free to witness the two of them spar and to interact with them, I hope you all are having an amazing day because you all deserve it, you all are amazing and yeah byeee :)

Colin and Robert had agreed to spend some time training together, both had realized how little control Colin had over his powers and finally decided to try to work on gaining a sense of control.

Colin had walked with his father into the woods, Robert having a confused look on his face until Colin eventually revealed his usual training spot, the same place where mark and hisako were recruited. an open area in the forest near Xavier’s, covered in scorch marks from previous training and fights until now they stood there.

“Alright look, believe it or not your level of control over oxygen can be used for more than just creting your explosions, similar To how my electricity can be used for more than just creating bolts of lightning“ Robert said to his son “I want you to close your eyes and try to feel the oxygen around you, absorb it not fast but slow, slowly enough to where you can feel where it’s coming from, what is around you” Colin looked confused before closing his eyes and beginning to absorb oxygen, slowly until eventually he began to feel as if he knew how the oxygen particles were moving, where they were and what they moved around to get to him “now what do you see?” Robert asked “I see…what looks like birds….and trees i feel the oxygen particles moving around them as they come into my hands“ Colin replied.

“that’s good, over the years I’ve managed to achieve something similar by detecting electricity in objects and organic life such as humans, and you’ve just proved your able to do so with oxygen particles as well…you can open your eyes now” Robert said as his son opened his eyes, before the man spoke to Colin again “your mutation gives you enough potential to possibly even rival me in firepower…hit me” “what why would I do that?” Colin asked “trust me anything you can throw at me right now I can take, hit me let’s see how strong your explosions can get” robert replied before Colin began to generate explosions in his palms, blasting Robert with stronger and stronger blasts, stronger than what he had even used on the symbiote that had taken over zeke, for hours he continued to do this until fatigue began to overtake his body and he stopped not having done any damage to his father at all “I don’t know if I can do this for much longer“ he said exhausted”that’s fine…now we can test your durability I want you to stand tall and try to take a hit”

Robert said as his son stood tall readying for a punch, instead however Robert flicked him, in the chest sending Colin flying back into a tree, Robert immediately teleported to his son kneeling down “you okay kid?” Robert asked “y-yeah…perfectly fine“ Colin said smiling a bit before stumbling up “Okay…let’s end training for the day and continue tomorrow“ Robert told his son as he nodded “now go rest and recover Kay?” Robert smiled patting his son on the shoulder before they both left ending training for the day

Colin…couldn’t sleep, so he had decided to walk into the woods, sitting down at his usual training spot and starting a fire, staring at the stars…when he heard walking and then saw his mother sit next to him.

a minute passed before the silence was broken “hey kid…can‘t sleep?“ Sidney said in a calm and soft tone before Colin responded “yeah…I come out here just to see the stars and I don’t know it’s kinda relaxing to me” Sidney smiled before looking up at the night sky, seeing the stars shine before speaking “yeah, I do that too sometimes” “you do?” Her son asked slightly surprised “yeah…whenever i cant sleep or have a long day I sit on top of the roof of your fathers workplace and just watch the stars…each one having its own story, none the same but all of them beautiful“ she said smiling at the thought

colin looked at his mother before smiling a bit “yeah…I usually come out here alone…or sometimes with squirrel girl or grey” sidney chuckled a bit and continued to look at the sky before replying “well do you mind if I look at them with you tonight?“ “that…that sounds nice” Colin said smiling and continuing to look at the stars with his mother

Colin had gone with his father to the airport to pick up one specific person…his mother, both had used their mutations to get there Robert appearing in a flash of lighting and Colin simply landing after propelling himself there using his explosions.

the two men waited for around 20 minutes before a voice could be heard, it Sounded happy, full of life as a woman walked to them “oh my gosh colin it’s been so long, I’m Sidney“ she said before immediately pulling her son into a hug

colin didn’t know what to do at first, what to say, how to react, he had never met his own mother and now she was here….he couldn’t help but hug her back and as the three left the airport there already almost a sense of unity between all three as they were all finally back together…a family

after meeting his father in the sky colin had led him back to his dorm room for an explanation of...everything. as they snuck in through the window making sure to close the door as they talked his father speaking first "alright look son-" colin immediately cut him off "no don't even try to call me that, where have you been for 16 years? what happened? how did you even find me? why come back now when I have a life on my own?" the man sighed looking at colin before speaking in a calm charismatic tone.

"my name is Robert Hartfelt, now I know this must seem confusing but take a minute and listen kay? your mother and I wanted to keep you safe, if anyone found out I was a mutant or your mother they may have hurt us...or you, our son....so we hid you for your own safety" Colin stared at him for a moment, his fist clenched his blood boiling with anger, fear, pain and insecurity before he finally spoke "alright...how did you find me? and why come back now?"

Robert looked his son in the eyes before speaking again "I work as a news anchor in Chicago, after seeing news of a teenager with the exact same abilities as your mother fighting alongside a team of young mutants, we examined the uniforms, saw the symbol for the X-men and decided to check here first...your mother and I want to be a part of your lives again kid...we lost you for 16 years...and we want to make up for that time while we can, how does that sound?" robert spoke calmly and offered colin a hand to shake

colin thought for a moment, were they serious? after all this time they just expected him to let them back into his life...but a part of him came out, something almost desperate, for his family...he looked Robert in the eyes and shook his hand "fine I'll give it a shot"

OOC: and that concludes the beginning of colin meeting his parents feel free to walk into his dorm for whatever reason and meet his father, this is an arc I hope I can write well for you all and I hope you enjoy it, anyways I hope you all are having an amazing day because you deserve it! okay byeee

colin was flying above the woods, doing so to clear his mind. Feeling the wind blow through his hair, the light of the sun heating his body, the feeling of being free it was all amazing to him he continued to fly higher and higher, above the clouds letting the heat of the sun absorb into his body and suit.

he stayed still, simply keeping himself in the air with his explosions when he felt something, the temperature of the air around him increase, his hair beginning to stand on end, the sudden smell and taste of metal in the air when all of the sudden, a flash of lightning appeared in the sky. and a man looking no older than his 50's floating before him speaking in a relaxed and charismatic tone "listen kid we need to talk" colin looked him in the eyes in confusion before replying "who are you?" and to colin's shock the man replied "I know this may come as a shock....but I believe I am your father"

colins mind began to spiral, who was this guy? was he really his father? this had to be some joke or something...right?

colin looked up at the man before replying through gritted teeth his voice filled with anger, confusion and insecurity saying only two words "explain everything"

colin blasted away from the mansion and into new york...again, after battling a symbiote and nearly dying he couldn't sleep so he decided to spend the night patrolling, to clear his mind and do something with his free time, he flew around new york appearing like a bright orange flash above the buildings to any civilians watching.

he flew all across new york searching for any form of crime and stopping it the second he found any, all with an almost emotionless look on his face. for hours he worked not caring about the fatigue or the pain, all whilst thinking...zeke was back and so was hisako but tensions were still high at the mansion, his sister had lost a foot, his teammates had been injured and even a few teachers.

he perched on top of a building looking down at the street, pondering as smoke came off of his body, a stoic expression on his face about how he could improve and what he could do to help his team

colin had been stressed for days now, leading the young x men, battling zeke in New York, finding the symbiote controlling his friend…hisako going missing, it all stressed him out and he needed a way to calm himself

late at night he got up and put on a suit of his, a redesign he had gotten from gosamyr and went to the front lawn of Xavier’s and with a single explosion he was in the air, he continues until he was above the clouds staring at the night sky, flying around feeling the air flowing through his hair, his jacket blowing in the wind, flying in the moonlight, it was calming to him, for hours he flew before eventually softly landing in the grass, just smiling to himself as he stared at the night sky, and for the moment just taking a breath, seeing the stars was always relaxing to him…even if he was still scared for his teammate

after an argument with hisako, Colin flew across New York feeling…empty, he had messed up as a leader not telling her about them fighting zeke, the symbiote or how zeke was still at the mansion. so he had flown to New York just patrolling the streets looking for the symbiote, jumping from building to building, the wind blowing through his hair. his scarf blowing in the wind as he ran.

for nine hours he patrolled the streets before eventually coming to a stop. he sighed sitting atop a building looking out at new york, thinking…questioning if he was worthy to lead the young x-men and where the symbiote could be…

As New York’s newest monster stalks its streets, causing havoc everywhere it goes, a group of 6 teenagers suddenly appear atop a small building along the manhattan skyline. Wearing a mixture of fully-designed suits and scrapped-together homemade costumes, they stand with a fire in their eyes, ready to help. Colin eventually speaks up with confidence and a commanding tone, “Alright, team. Stand ready and scout the area. If you see anything, contact the rest of the team. Look out for each other and stay safe.” The team scatters, aiding civilians and looking for the cause of the attack.

Colin walked through New york in his civilian attire, taking in the lights the sound everything…after spending so long at the mansion he decided to finally get out for the night and enjoy himself, shopping, looking at the beautiful views, and taking in the beauty of the city

tonight he chose to simply spend it out having fun and being a teenager and relaxing, mutant or not he decided to stop and take in the moment while he had the time

Colin worked late into the night experimenting with his mutation…he had written countless notes on various ways he could possibly use it but he decided tonight he would put it to the test.

so throughout the night he worked away in his dorm experimenting and writing notes as he figured out new ways to use his mutation, small orange flashes coming from his room occasionally

from creating small controlled vacuums of air, improving breathing, controlling levels of heat generated in his hands, and how much oxygen he really needed to generate any form of explosion even as small as a firecracker

so through the night he continued to work, note after note, cup of coffee after cup of coffee almost obsessed with finding new ways to use his power and doing so as creatively as possible not noticing if anyone were to see what he was doing

colin…couldn’t sleep, ever since apocalypse attacked he couldn‘t get one image out of his brain, apocalypse killing Darwin. so he walked into the woods…alone, wanting to find an escape from the pain the thoughts caused him

he looked at his hand, seeing it shaking, seeing the image in his mind of Darwin’s limp body in apocalypse‘s hand, how close he himself had come to death right after…how helpless he felt about all of it, it broke him thinking how he couldn’t save him.

he got into a runner’s position, as the smell of smoke hit the air, smoke emitting from Colin’s body, his body crackled with orange sparks as he began to blast himself from tree to tree, before delivering an explosive blast to a large boulder, shattering it instantly, then another, and another, and another.

for hours on end he kept repeating the process of finding object to practice With generating Stronger and stronger explosions till eventually after hours of training he stood there, surrounded by shattered and melted rocks, the charred forest floor from wherever he stepped, his sleeves burnt to a crisp exposing scars both new and old, before he stood there, unmoving, silently crying before quietly saying one sentence “I miss you…so much”
