Emergency cerclage at 21w5d

Did anybody had successful pregnancy after emergency cerclage at 21w5d due to 7mm cervix , bulging membrane and water leakage?
I lost my baby even after emergency cerclage as the leakage was not stopping.

TAC VS TVC

I went through a very bad miscarriage last month at 21w5d due to cervical insufficiency after an emergency cerclage. Doctor said next time we can put preventive cerclage at week 13-14 after NT NB scan.
I heard too many stories about failed cerclage. Can some one please suggest if TVC is better option or TAC?

I am from Banglore, India. If someone can suggest a good doctor who has expertise in Cervical Insufficiency or high risk pregnancy.

I am very scared to even plan for next pregnancy, i want to hear success stories and want to meet doctors who has successfully helped getting through this.

Thanks in advance.

7mm cervix at 21 weeks

Sharing my worst nightmare that turned into reality.

I lost my first pregnancy at 9 weeks. Doctor said it was chromosomal abnormality. Never heard baby’s heartbeat and yet i was completely heart broken at my first pregnancy loss.

We planned again after 6-7 months and saw the good news on 9th February 2026. Although I was scared from the last time I had high hopes and was most optimist at that moment.

Things went well in my first scan at 6weeks, heard my baby’s heart beat and got happy tears. Noticed slight red spotting around 8-9 weeks and it scared the hell out of me. Did the scan and got to know it was SCH - subchorionic haemorrhage. Doctor said this is very common and it should go away in 4-6 weeks and i was given progesterone.

Went for NT NB scan at 13th week , everything was going good , baby was growing at perfect pace and the SCH had also decreased which was a good sign. I was very confident that things are going well and nothing bad can happen now.

I was extremely excited for my Anomaly scan, which was planned at 20 weeks 3 days on 4th June . I was so happy to finally meet my baby again on the scans. The scan specialist mentioned, “the baby was growing in the most perfect way . But..” . There the “but” scared me and all the worst case scenarios came to my mind except the one which actually happened. I had never heard about Cervical Insufficiency. She mentioned that my cervix is just 7 mm which was 3.5 cm in previous scan. She mentioned that the mouth had already opened and i need emergency stitch.

My OB was called in, immediately i was moved to labour room, after fasting for 6 hours , i was moved to OT. But i started leaking on the OT table even before the stitch process started. Doctor suggested to take decision immediately whether to terminate the pregnancy or put the stitch. We kept faith and went for stitch. Ofcourse i had to do everything i could for my baby.

I stayed in the hospital for 8 days. Hoping that some miracle will save my baby. Daily leaking little little as I was in head down legs up position with complete bed rest. And finally the day came when we had to take the hardest decision as the liquid was reducing day by day. Finally the stitch was removed and I went into labour.

After 5 hours of painful contractions delivered my baby boy at 21w6d on 10th June. All that pain for nothing, no baby ! I was devastated. Lost all my faith in good karma and god. Kept crying days and nights.

Its been 7 weeks now, still struggling. Keeping fake smile on my face but feeling horrible and guilty inside. I couldn’t do enough to save my baby.
