Villagers voices are really choppy for some reason

As the title suggests, the sound effects when a villager or even the player character talks, the sound is really choppy/skips a bit. Idk if its the version I'm playing on, its the current version. Just unsure what to do to fix it

Sorry its a tad pixellated, but heres all 10 residents of Sploingus! (Might have to tap the full image on mobile)

I adore these guys, they're very unforgettable.

Ouugh I love them

I was taking photos for my phone wallpaper the other day, and genuinely I adore these two. Biskit was my childhood favorite when I played City Folk. Bud was my first villager alongside Agnes when making the island in New Horizons. Just a little appreciation post for the two of them ❤️🐶🦁

For whatever reason, Bud refuses to take off his hot dog costume, he doesn't even change clothes anymore 😭
