139 diagnostic to 170+ PTs. Some advice:

Learning these two things helped me make score jumps:

  1. Learning the difference between Necessary vs. Sufficient Assumption:

A Necessary Assumption does not guarantee the conclusion. It’s something the argument depends on. Tip For Necessary Assumption questions, negate the answer choice. If negating it breaks the author’s argument, then that’s your answer

A Sufficient Assumption does guarantee the conclusion. It’s something that when added to the premises, proves the conclusion. Tip for Sufficient Assumption questions, ask yourself, “If I add this to the premises, does the conclusion have to be true?” If there’s still any way for the premises to be true and the conclusion false, eliminate it. The correct answer choice will completely bridge the gap between the premises and the conclusion.

  1. Learning the elimination method:

When you’re stuck between two answers, don’t pick based on which one makes more sense. Pick the one you can’t eliminate. Before, I was always trying to find the “right answer.” Now I focus on eliminating the wrong ones, and whatever I can’t eliminate is what I pick.

After nearly a decade, I’m praying consistently again

I didn’t pray consistently for almost a decade. For the longest time, I convinced myself it was too late to come back, and now I regret not starting sooner.
Alhamdulillah, I started praying again, and I’ve now been consistent with salah for over two years. I’m sharing this for anyone who thinks they’ve been away for too long. If you think it’s too late, it’s not. If you think you won’t be consistent even if you tried, that might not be true. I used to tell myself the same thing. No matter how long it’s been, Allah’s mercy is greater. Take that first step. It is better late than never.

139 diag -> 172,171,172,170 (recent pts)

When I first broke into the 170s, I was scared that it was just a fluke. So relieved to score consistently in the 170s.

Advice: learn all question types, nail down your understanding of sufficient and necessary questions, read articles if you struggle with RC, do untimed practice before shifting to timed and please give yourself time. This progress has taken me almost a year.

139 (diagnostic) -> 172 (pt)

Scored a 172 on a timed pt after a diagnostic in the 130’s. So happy to see my months of hard work paying off.

Feeling stuck

Studying since one year consistently. Started with a 139 diagnostic. Scored 161 on the official LSAT last year. Now, I am Consistently getting -3 wrong per LR section since two months. Not any specific difficulty/type of questions. I review my wrong answers. Feeling lost. What should I do?
