So ive made some beers that mmmm… are absolute un drinkable piss, ive run them through the a pot still and all the hops flavor has remained present, making the initial flavor … substantially worse. From foul burnt ipa to ipa whiskey, which has a taste similar to Nintendo ds cartridge bitterant. Is there any way to clean up the flavor to make it neutral, or am I better off just using it as fire starter? It’s hands down the worst thing I’ve ever tasted in my life

Im doing a split magic/str build, have played the game before but never beat it. Have beat ds1 and ds3 and lean towards moderate speed str weapons for maximum dps to stamina usage. Exile great sword, broadsword, club, flamberge, midsize weapons. Does anyone have any suggestions for early game weapons to build to be playable for endgame. Currently using the club bc it has an A str booster. Tia

Was fucking about a bit and made something interesting. 3lbs rye 3lbs corn, 1lbs flaked rice, about a bunch of frozen bananas, and some blueberry compote I had in the fridge (blueberries have no bearing on flavor whatsoever and could be left out imo). May have added white rice, I forget. +12 lbs of sugar or so, to bulk abv potential. Mash off, with red star dady.
Single pass in a pot with a thumper keg. Came out hot, obviously, bc the rye, with a very nice natural banana flavor after taste.

I’ve made banana hooch before and the fermenting banana flavor is awful, adding it to a mashout on the other hand, very surprisingly good flavor imparting. Wanted to share as it’s my first success using bananas as a flavor profile addition.

Also for anyone wondering, I’ve used rice as a substitution for grain making whiskey, and it comes out really nice, very light body flavor. Would recommend, although would suggest glutinous rice over jasmine or basmati or other grocery store rice.

I have some beer ive made, cold crashes it, but only managed to get anout a gallon off of 3 gallons of clean product, any suggestions on how I can further clarify it, aside from more time cold crashing it. Im not too keen on drinking fart beer and having yeast gut from drinking unclaified product.

I have about 10 liter size tanks from galaxy gas (don’t ask lol) that have aluminum canisters and brass valves, the scrap won’t take them unless they’re de valved, does anyone have any recommendations for how to remove the valves safely? The canisters are fully de pressurized. Just don’t feel it’s the wisest idea to hit a valve with a hammer hatchet or any other smashing type of tool if there’s a better option. They’re non refillable before anyone says dismantling canisters is tweaker behavior, so they’ve got no reuse resale value.

Ok so, everyone knows that beer is just whiskey with hops, undistilled.
Question being, what is the primary purpose of leaving grains in a mash to ferment, versus removing them for ferment, as beer grains are removed and whiskey grains are not. What difference does it make in the process? Basically grain tea vs mash, what’s the difference in the final result?

I know this is a matter of opinion, but what is the best weapon for damage per second for str? Ive been using a heavy broadsword +10, as well as the fume great sword +9 and great club +9 and the great sword and club leave something to be desired for stamina usage. While the broadsword does less damage, im able to get 8 hits off or so, whereas the great weapons im able to hit 4-5 hits. Im running a str/fth build, 65 str, 27 fth and building, weapon requirements are no issue. Ng+, so I have most of the great weapons already, and titanite is no issue. Downside to my build is a lack of vit (20) bc I don’t feel the need for heavy armor, so using heavier weapons results in running around naked to be able to wield heavier weapons, not an issue but a factor. Ive followed the quest line completely, just defeated the invasion assist on ithryll bridge, spoke to sirrus in firelink, got the cat ring and other item, am embered and they’re not showing up at the cliff edge to fight hodrick. Ive warped in and out 3 times, am I missing a time lapse criteria of beating a boss before they appear or something alike?

Does anyone have any recommendations for how to deal with the stage two? Im struggling with dodging the combination of slash and magic, and keep getting swept. Running a str/fth build 30 vit 30 end 35 str 32 fth, have vow of silence but haven’t been able to pull it off in stage two. Using a +10 heavy broadsword, damage isn’t the issue, taking damage is
