About Sakura → what skills should she really have if she had received real training, given her backstory?

Hi all,

Been wondering about Haruno Sakura. In the manga she's at the top of the Kunoïchi class, despite being shit at lots of physical stuff (or so it is presented as such in the manga).

I bet Ino and Hinata who were in the same promotion could wipe her in every physical class.

Yet, she was the first in her class, and was placed in Team 7, made of heavy hitters and people with tons of Jutsu, and eventually uses (part of) her talents to become a medic.

I'm not really satisfied by it.

For me, if she was at the top of her class it should show better in all her skills (and remember her parents are Chuunin in the Canon, so that would explain why she's as good as Clan kids.)

I saw many BAMF Sakura rewriting her with lots of good (and less good) ideas, among them were:

  • Actually training her in Genjutsu (this skill not reallly developed in the manga at all)
  • Water jutsu
  • Earth jutsu
  • Using her proto-medicine skills to train her into an assassin
  • Poison
  • etc.

What would be a good skill set for Sakura if she really had been developed as she should have? Also if she really was trained by a teacher and not left to fend for herself by her sensei ?

Looking for good fictions with Ebisu

I know there are several fics where Ebisu is a good teacher. I donlt necessary want a story with him as an MC, but I'd like him to be an important character.

Re-read *Trial By Ninja* recently.

Rules question : is there a way to spend willpower for bonus on a roll?

Hi all,

I remember in Cthulhu that there's an optional rile to spend luck to pass some tests. 1 luck point for 1 percent of success.

I was listening to some Delta Green Actual Play and they used a rule where you could spend 1 willpower for a bonus 10% on a roll. I was thinking that in it could be interesting in a campaign setting, but maybe overpowered in a oneshot.

Your thoughts on this?

Unexplained details in *Impossible Landscapes*

Hi all,

I'm finally denting in the Impossible Landscapes book. And sometimes during reading I'm thrown by an unexplained detail or another.

It might be because I'm not at the right section yet. But for instance in Abigail's Appartment we find >!a photo of her parents with the eyes scratched out and a clown hand stretched around their shoulders!< and in Dorchester House, >!Orderly Richard Brice has a mummy of an infant child in a bag!<.

It's never really explained, as are other details. I''m curious. Shall I try to find an explanation or just leave it as one of the many bizarre clues we fibd throughout the story? Or leave it out if it doesn't serve the story?

Because I know players will never get to see all the fine details of this campaign. But in the other hand it's written in a campaign with so many en elements that just respond to one another, so I'm always wondering what's a real clue, what's for color, and what'z a red herring.

Hello

One of my player group finished *Convergence*, and before we enter the wonders of MAJESTIC-12 and what happens during Rules of Engagement, I was thinking of playing *The New Age*, but I have several issues.

Sorry if the terms are not correct, I'm using the ones in my French version, and translating them back to English.

I have the old version from the 90's (cause I have the old edition in French back when it was Cthulhu V6). How different is Arc Dream Publishing version vs the one from Pagan Press?

Convergence is 1996. The New Age is 2007 in the book I use. I feel like the two scenarios are too distant, AND they play with MAJESTIC. With the new Conspiracy, I suppose the dates are updated as well? Will protomatter that the mi-go were experimenting with in Convergence (so mid-1996) be good enough by 1997, when my players are?

How to properly link Convergence and The New Age I mean the stewards are supposed to have protomatter in them, but it's kind of a secret. However I don't think Delta Green randomly assigns missions to their teams, and my players are getting used to work around extraterrestrial tech, rather than paranormal stuff. Or maybe the explosion inside the house is determined by Louis Gaston (or even Alphonse), as Alien Tech, hence why they sent cell D who was recently in Groversville, and not another cell.

Thanks a lot for your input

I was wondering how to guide my players to creatz good and actionable background for Delta Green?

Some people suggested the *Delta Green - Briefing Documents* and others the *Heinrich's Call of Cthulhu Guide to Character Creation*.

For you, what are the main elements for a good backstory?
