Had to say goodbye to our first starter attempt today. Followed all the rules, rye flour, proofing chamber, bottled water, you name it. After three months of daily feeding and never rising more than maybe 25% after 24 hours, it was time to say goodbye. Sometimes it just doesn't work.

My son is going to be a freshman swimmer at a D3 college this fall. As far as summer workouts, his coach gave him some modest lifting and yardage goals, and said to focus on "swimming big". Any thoughts on what that would mean?
