After watching the trailer 5000000 times I want to believe the velvet room will be a mausoleum

Hello everyone! Wanted to say and reintroduce myself again I’m Meno! I’m brand new to the series and just played Grandia 3 via PS2 emulator!!!

This game albeit with some flaws was absolutely incredible to me and I loved every second of it. In this post I will not go CRAZY into depth of the review simply because I’m new and i haven’t touched the other games so my opinions will probably be less valid than majority of yalls.

Plot 📖 - I know disc 2 is a thing. We all know it’s a thing. The devs know it’s a thing but I really didn’t mind it all that much. The first Disc is in my definition the BEST adventure plot ever. You meet a good cast of characters and set out to some great locations and so many nice story beats. I did think the plot involving Xorn was pretty weak and that his reasonings needed more depth but it definitely wasn’t the worst thing in the world. I like to sum up the plot as a very generic story about freedom.

Gameplay 🎮 - Idc what anyone says the gameplay was peak. I had so much fun during this entire game. The UI, the aesthetic of the gameplay, the combat it was just SO good. It was always fluid and never a dull moment.

Characters 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 - I loved a good chunk of the characters but a LOT of them I simply couldn’t care less about to be honest. I didn’t care for Ulf or Dahana and thought it was a shame that they replaced Miranda and Alonso. I definitely felt like no one had arcs or really anything going on for them in Disc 2 which is an absolute shame. Kornell randomly disappearing was really sad (to be honest I felt like he was gonna become like the tank party member after awhile) but overall a good cast of characters that suffered from a poor development cycle.

Soundtrack 🎶 - peak. Absolutely beautiful.

World 🌎- I loved it. I felt like every location was absolutely beautiful and nicely done and made sense in the lore and world besides like 1-2 (will get to that later.) I wish there was a couple more towns though to explore and maybe some random places that had no plot relevance to add into the freedom of the game.

Dungeons 🏰 - I didn’t hate a single dungeon in this game and I find that actually shocking to me. There was definitely some really short dungeons but I liked all of them. My favorite was probably the first forest area, the beach island and the final dungeon lol

GRAND VERDICT:

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨/ 5 stars

3.5 stars out of 5.

The game definitely has its flaws but the gameplay the world and the music make up for a lot and this game truly deserves love from the fandom.

As someone who loves doing a “what I would do” to many many games I want to do a full fledged one for this game also. I will make 2-3 posts about individual things like characters and their arcs then a MAJOR post involving massive changes to the game intself. The first “what if” post will most likely be done next week and is about our lovely two bosses on the 3rd slide…..

I’m a little over halfway through the 2nd disc and absolutely LOVING Grandia 3. The graphics, characters, the soundtrack and EVERYTHING about the combat I absolutely love BUT I am really not a fan of the fact M and A left the party kind of abruptly. I feel like if anything they would have stayed to the end and had more involvement then the later two party members. Is this just a G3 game or is this like a series staple that party members just leave and get replaced?

Hey everyone! I’ve played the games 100s of times and there’s always survivors I’ve felt like could have been made supporting characters. I was bored so I made a “What If” storyline for a survivor in DR2. The following will include these things: Their plot, mechanics and Outcome for character

📖 Plot

-Starts off normal with Chuck Rescuing Denyce from the looters
Small cutscene of Chuck saying he needs zombrex for his Daughter. Denyce says she has some and gathers supplies with Chuck and makes their way back to safe house. She meets Katey.
-Denyce moves into clinic and says she can run the place.
-Post Case 2-2 in Case 2-3 (New case for the what if) called “Vital Signs” Denyce leaves the safe house on a run to Roy’s Mart with two Random Survivors after multiple safe house residents are showing signs of illnesss (Kill count) and in the store Stacey sees the looters come back and one of the survivors is shot in the head while Denyce and Random run into Slot Ranch Casino.
-Chuck arrives at slot ranch to see the looters dead and minimal zombies around. The random survivor runs up to Chuck but falls into his arms as razor sharp chips shoot into her back. A psychopath fight occurs and is casino themed.
-Denyce is saved and more lore is Learned about how she lost her younger brother due to turning because of her not being able to afford zombrex.
-Later in the game if the paramedic Sven is rescued he will help run the clinic with Denyce.

MAJOR STORY LINE BRANCH

- If Denyce is brought along as a medic help for case 3-2: Run for the money and doesn’t die in field there will be a small side cutscene of her picking up merc gear (Vest and a pistol)
-If she is not brought along and Sven is and doesn’t die in the field no equipment is gained besides some smaller insight into phenotrains
During the safe house breach the following can happen and effect the story

ROUTES:

A.) Denyce & Sven Survive zombie onslaught but Denyce got the equipment - During T.K. Escape they are only slightly beat up and warn Chuck and crew that he escaped

B.) Denyce & Sven survive zombie onslaught but Denyce didn’t have equipment - During the T.K. Escape Sven is killed protecting Denyce

C.) Denyce survives the zombie onslaught with equipment and protects herself from T.K

D.) Denyce survives the zombie onslaught but is found with a knife in her chest and is Dead

E.) Denyce dies in the zombie onslaught and is found turned in the safe house hallways staring at a poster of a boy holding a ballon. Is put down by Chuck.

If Denyce survives these events and Sven is alive they treat injures survivors from the attack.
Denyce has a minor role in the story going forward until the end where her and a few others help Chuck save Rebecca from the military.
She escapes fortune city and is not involved in overtime mode.

⚙️ Mechanics
She opens the clinic and will occasionally have healing supplies in there
She will now call Chuck and inform him of missions that lead to zombrex
She will sometimes replace Stacey in calling Chuck to remind him of Kateys shots
If she is taken back out into fortune city as an AI partner she can heal survivors 5% of their health and Chuck 10%
She sticks by survivors.
If Sven is rescued she can revive Chuck ONCE to prevent a game over.

Denyces major determinant fate comes from the “Run for your money” and the breach.

Choose Denyce to accompany you during the case
Make sure she doesn’t die out in the field
Help Clear Zombies from Clinic
Make sure she doesn’t die out in the field during military rescue

Having Sven is not required to make sure she stays alive but it helps upgrade the clinic and can help prevent her death.

Chaos rings is an amazing JRPG series that were sadly stuck on mobile and a very confusing PS Vita situation that stories deserve a spotlight in modern day gaming.

Just started a new playthrough of 5 and I was wondering. So I know Faykreed is “underdeveloped” don’t really see it that way but by the terms of SO lore it is but it just struck me that his outfit is more space and futuristic than others on the planet and it’s never questioned. Also Emerson and Anne’s outfits are more underdeveloped than his and they’re actually from space. Did anyone ever notice this or was it just glossed over.

🔥 Update: Sadly the friend I paid to commission my concepts for these characters and the fan fic story I’m writing have regrettably been confirmed to be made via AI. This genuinely makes me so sad because i absolutely LOVE the designs because it’s how I envisioned the two leads in the story. I Absolutely love this series and all its characters and wanted to try and leave a mark on the fandom with a story I’ve been working on for awhile now so to see my trust and care get backhanded so easily sucks so much.

1st Protagonist - Ariel Filliard

A 19 year old girl who once arrives at the transport station of Strega 8 gets chased by men in black. She searches the galaxy for her lost cousin “E”

She fights with bangles and lacks the ability to cast symbology naturally. Her necklace grants her the powers to cast basic arts when she needs it.

2nd Protagonist - Rylen Cade

A 18 year old boy bounty hunter who failed the federation boot camp. He’s been traveling the galaxy with his group called “Nyx” hunting down criminals. He lost his parents to the great calamity years prior when moon base was attacked.

Rylen fights with a ripper blade and mixed martial arts. He can use his blade one handed.

I told the friend that’s been making the charts I’ve been posting that people have been asking for them and this was his response. Be brave and venture into the star ocean! 🌌

Think like all protagonists come together to stop Luther or like everyone vs square enix deciding to make a 7th game

I’ve always found it fascinating in JRPGS, RPGS, Anime, shows, comics etc whatever when there’s villain groups or antagonistic groups like the Turks, Shinra, The judges, Fatui (very debatable), Org 13, Etc. do yall think there will be more groups like this in FF going forward or do you think FF will stick to the small 1-3 not very connected villains separated by arcs in their games
