How to Get Started
Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/InPostWoes amazing.
The Polisher Stone, Fyfield Down. Rare example of a stone used for whetting and polishing axe heads.
One was recently found in Dorset, so that is next on my list.
The birth place of many of the stones used in Stonehenge and Avebury.
Fyefield Down, Wiltshire.
Roughly 3500 BC and likely named by the Saxons as they couldn’t explain why it was there when they arrived!
Wayland was a legendary Norse Blacksmith, so the story here was that he would shoe your horses, if you left them overnight at this spot!
* update - corrected smelling pisstake
Co. Clare. Ireland. I took this in 2019
Nice walking through the Tropical Gardens and listening to the pine cones crackling and shedding their seeds!
Beautiful and naturally occurring fractal growth of Romanesco Broccoli.
I took this a few years back as I thought the geometry looked amazing!
I am not normally one to knock BCP, but the gardens have been in disrepair for 2 years now and closed to visiting families (oh and locals)!
I totally appreciate there are bigger problems in the area, but given that we pay pretty much the highest Council tax in the UK, am I right to be feeling a bit irked by this now?
Just got some monster hail in Bournemouth! You can hear it on the video!
