Looking for drummers and guitarists for a hardcore/doom band
In need for a drummer and some guitarists for a dark hardcore metal band.
It is inspired by the game Deltarune and will have a dark atmosphere.
There aren't many requirements, just being able to count to 4 and write basic good riffs is all I ask.
Volleyball and/or beach volleyball community to join
Hi there! 😊
My lovely bf is moving from Cardiff to Bournemouth for a year-long work programme. He lives in the centre and was devastated to know that the nearest indoor volleyball place is a bus and train ride away (I honestly did not catch that properly as our video call was choppy).
Do you know of any indoor and beach volleyball community he could join? Ideally somewhere not too far too from the centre.
Also for anyone playing volleyball, he is quite tall (1.88m) and makes a good blocker(?) haha 😂
Night Life!
Now that Cameo is officially shut! Where’s everyone going for Night life?
Barbara’s the only option with decent crowd
Any recommendations? Good vibes, music and decent dance floor
Very random question about Moordown Medical Centre
So at Moordown Medical Centre when I was younger, I remember there being a number of beach/seaside paintings in the waiting reception area, in the same style and likely by the same artist. They might still be there, but I haven’t had the need to go there since they’re not my doctors anymore.
I was just wondering if anyone knows the name of the artist that painted these? I remember trying to google lens the art once before but with no luck. I realise this is a weird request but I always remember them and almost feel quite nostalgic, I’d love to find more work or prints by the same artist.
Any info appreciated!
Bournemouth pubs showing the England v Mexico game?

“Don’t Visit Bournemouth” - Bunch of BS
I’ve been taking my camera up and down the country lately, filming towns, beaches and family days out rather than just relying on TikTok clips, Google reviews or people saying somewhere is “dead”. I’d have to say Bournemouth/Boscombe genuinely surprised me.
I went with my wife and two young kids expecting it to be nice enough, but probably overhyped and expensive. Instead, it felt properly alive, families on the beach, people walking the seafront, kids playing, cafés busy, people carrying chips and ice creams, and that old-school British seaside atmosphere that somehow still works when the weather is on your side. Yes, it gets busy. Yes, it is not cheap. Yes, there are rougher bits, like pretty much every sizeable seaside town in the country. But I am starting to think we are far too quick to write off places like Bournemouth because they are not ultra-luxury, abroad, or perfect for Instagram.
My kids had a better day there than they have had on some far more expensive trips (even abroad), Sometimes a decent beach, a bit of sun, fish and chips, and somewhere to wander is enough.
I filmed the visit as part of the places I am travelling around the country to explore, and it made me appreciate Bournemouth even more.
Thank You Bournemouth ❤️⤵️
Is it easy to make friends and meet people if you move alone?
I am a single twenty-something thinking of relocating for a fresh start by the sea. I love the outdoors and paddleboarding which seems huge down there but I am slightly worried about feeling isolated. Are there active social clubs run clubs or casual meetups where newcomers can actually build a network?
Homeless veteran by seafront
Hey, I'm hoping some local folks can assist.
There's an ex army gent on the seafront - homeless. He got attacked by some people this morning.
We've bought him some food but we're not local so can't do much more . Is there anyone nearby who can help him out? He's near the lower gardens at the moment.
Lead female actor needed
Hey! My name is Monica and I’m currently working on my Masters film project titled, That’s Deeply Human. It’s a short contemporary film about a young woman who’s just moved to a new city and is navigating her life and relationships, but falls into a trap of becoming too comfortable with her AI companion and eventually loses the ability to trust her own instincts. It’s funny, it’s devastating, it’s incredibly real.
We’re filming in Bournemouth from the dates of 13th-21st of July. We’re searching for our lead, Anna.
We’ll be providing food, travel, and accommodation if necessary and this film will be submitted to festivals.
If you or anyone you know might be interested in this role, please reach out to me 😊
Which seaside town in England is genuinely best for a family day out?
We’re trying to do more UK day trips with the kids this year and I’m building a proper list of seaside towns that are actually worth the drive….. Not just somewhere with a beach, three arcades and a £9 ice cream. Boscombe/Bournemouth surprised me recently because the beach was much better than I expected, but I didn’t enjoy Southsea nowhere near as much, so now I’m wondering what else we’ve been overlooking.
What are the best seaside towns in England for a family day out or one-night UK staycation?
Bar / Restaurant Recs
Visiting Bournemouth next Friday to Sunday with a bunch of mates for a golf trip. We’re staying at The Hampton by Hilton on Upper Terrace Road. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go for a night out on Saturday and a restaurant we could go to before? None of our group have ever been to Bournemouth so completely unfamiliar on where is good etc. For context, age range is from 30 to 50 (we’re so old 😭) so not looking for a crazy night out, just a nice area with some music and lovely atmosphere etc.
Thanks!
Bus stops close to Airport
So Bournemouth Airport has the cheapest flights to Edinburgh where my boyfriend is!
Unfortunately the buses to the airport are shockingly inferior to like everywhere else and they barely ever run.
To save money on a spenny taxi, does anyone know of any bus stops relatively close to the airport? I'm happy to get off at aforementioned stop and walk like 20-30 mins at least to it
