New to field recording question

I’m new to field recording. I just want to make some recordings of birds and storms in my backyard.

I’m trying to find a mic I could integrate to an ESP32 - so looking for low power requirements. What type of mics should I be looking at? Im for soldering and making my own. This is a hobby project so I want to keep the cost down. I appreciate any help.

1st attempt

So that was difficult…and there’s a boat load of obvious mistakes. But it’s my first attempt.

I’m looking for some feedback. I’ve watch a bunch of YouTube’s but I’ll do that again before trying this front.
- should I accept at my skill level to do the front in two pieces? Trying to figure out the corners was tough once the middle grill was pinned.
- can someone just point me on the direction of strategy with the “headlights”? Should I pin the center then work out. It may be hard to tell profile in these photos but headlight area steps in a decent amount.

Might try with a partner next time and I’m definitely going to take the roof supports off before my next attempt.

This is just my home golf cart to mess around so just looking to mess around and learn a little.

Potential purchase - SBA Backed Loan for buy

I have a business I’m looking to acquire that exceeds the minimum requirements for SBA. The business is pre-approved by a lender for an SBA loan. The buyers broker has indicated that a down payment of 20% is required by the lender (that has pre-approved) this business.

Few questions here:
- why would a lender require 20% for a particular sale? Especially if the buyer hasn’t been specified.
- would the broker somehow be incentivized to increase the down payment? Maybe they have a relationship with the lender?
- is this just the broker vetting my seriousness in this opportunity?
- lastly, if the broker is talking to a lender. Is it generally acceptable to talk to my own lenders or an I potentially burning the deal? Seems silly not to but I’ve read instances where shopping the lenders has shut deals down (I think that’s more in the case where the deal is further along - I’m pre-LOI)

I’d prefer to have more capital on hand so I can invest it in the business for growth and more working capital. I don’t expect the lender to care about growing the business but I expect I could make an argument that more working capital is required to keep the business on its historical path. I could put 20% down but I’d prefer not to as I would have to pull from some long term investments.

Attorney Search

I’m looking for a patent attorney but feel lost.

I have a product that I want to discuss with attorney for what I believe would be a utility patent.

This is not the product, but for conversation, let’s say it would be similar to 3M command adhesive picture hooks.

I’ve read a good bit around the internet about making sure the attorney has experience in the industry that my patent would apply. In my example, what would the industry be? Picture hangers (half a joke)? Adhesives (I’m not inventing the raw products I’m using)? Or should I be looking at someone that has dealt with fasteners?

I’m a small independent person that’s never been through the patent process. I believe I have sufficient budget for this process and just want someone thats appropriately qualified. Is the answer to just interview a bunch and let them sell me on their credentials.

Not looking for specific recommendations on individuals just the process.

Extra Hardware - club cars

I’ve been doing some googling and come up empty. Is there anywhere that sells club car hardware sets/kit i.e. extra fasteners for body panels etc?

I have a club car tempo if that makes a difference.
