Food in Benidorm/Alicante?

So I'm going in a vacation split between Benidorm/Valencia. Currently got accommodation in the Old Town/El Castell area. I know Benidorm was basically built for tourism, but I am wondering if I can find some good local cuisine around? Not that touristy crap food for Germans or Brits. I've been in Zaragoza and Barcelona and I did manage to find some gorgeous local restaurant, and I'm curious if I can find some in Benidorm as well.

Or am I doomed to take the tram to Alicante every evening? I imagine Alicante should have a lot richer local cuisine, but surprisingly accommodation was more expensive than Benidorm and the units I found has much worse position/looks.

Thanks!

What's the main P&L driver in O&G trading?

I suppose in equity trading it's mostly algo/HF related operations. But how about oil and gas, specifically? network, better analysts foreseeing trends, quants paper trading derivatives? Everybody is looking at the same handful of commodities, so how can someone have an edge and generate additional profit.

In physical I'd think your network has a large impact, but how about prop shops? good ol' rack of servers near the exchange + nerds to get the alpha out of it? In EU power this seems to be the trend, if you are not humongous to have a lot of negotiating power, PPA's don't seem get you shit.

Can you get a sudden capsaicin intolerance?

I think this is the best sub to ask this since I don't want long-winded-sorry-nothing-can-do medical advice. I need empirical advices.

Mid 20's, ate hot for quite some time, pretty much above the normal enjoyable spicy level of the crowd (I never find anything spicy enough in restaurants, with extremely small exceptions). Never had any issue, and 99% of the time either ate fresh or dried & flaked pepper, so no chemical-y stuff. Around 3-ish years ago I've started eating at a burger joint that was doing a deviously hot sauce. I asked them about it and basically they were doing a normal sauce and added a few droplets of some capsaicin extract rated at around 6 mill SCO if i remember well. As I said, devious work, and the next day was extra devious, with cramps and stuff (I will admit that I was leaving order notes as "extra hot, send me to the hospital"). Last time I did asked them to make the sauce "with extra hatred" it was so bad I got stomach craps after a few bites, which is actually the only time I got cramps while eating.

Anyway, fast fwd some years of gastric abuse, they have stopped making that sauce. But I'm encountering something new: cramps after eating normal hot pepper. Doesn't matter its dry, fresh, infused in olive oil, very hot or mild, I get cramps the next day. And I like eating hot a lot, but after 4-5 consecutive morning of hating my life I kinda decided to take a break (break record lasted (1) day so far). And I can not understand why. Did I fry my digestive tract with that synthetic crap? Am I just getting past my prime in life and have to accept it? Am I just paying for my sins?

Anyway, as mentioned in the intro: I need practical advice. If any of you went through something similar and managed to undo the apparent capsaicin intolerance, please share it with me as well.

Executive shadowing program

I can a enter a competition for a 1month executive shadowing program at a large local utility. I have, however, 1 1/2 y of work experience in energy trading/ops and around a total of 3y of work experience. Is this a bit of a stretch, i.e I shouldn't be looking at things like shadowing anymore?

The program is addresed to postgrads, which is the category I'm in tho. Mostly focused on leadership in energy.

I plan on keeping my job on the duration, some sort of leave mixed with early and late work.

What do you think?

How do you see Iran war now?

I think Mojtaba is either disabled or dead, while IRGC and big boys like Ghalibaf and Araghchi play bad cop/good cop to have excuses for saying one thing and the doing exactly the opposite. And from time to time they issue an omnious letter from the "supreme leader" saying "uranium shall not leave". And alogside the US admin, they are probably making a metric ton of money on inside trading.

US can't afford neither a ground invasion nor folding out. Iran had a crappy hand and played it well, and they know the domestic pressure on Trump: unpopular war, growing resent towards Israel, midterms looming and a lot of DSA related unrest on both sides of the race.

How tf can this end? No matter how much you bomb, you will always be one drone away from a doubling of insurance and/or rates. Iran knows they can maintain the status quo by just crawling under a rock when missiles start flying and activing a military drone cell at rhe right time. I just can't see how they can be pushed to accept any concession without wiping them out.

Anyway, these are just my 1.93 (inflation adjusted) cents. I want to hear others' 1.93 cents.

PFA vs. SRL? care e mai avantajos

Salut,

multumesc,

Hi, I've got an S25+ which I didn't update for quite spme time. When I got the phone last year I was mega disappointed with the battery life (and currently still am, just got used to it and to having to keep it permanently on battery saver). I've read some mixed reviews on OneUI 8. Some say it fixes the battery drain, while others complain it starts a battery drain. Similar with the mixed reviews of S25's original battery.

Whats your exp? Should I update it to UI8? Or wait for 8.5 rollout and hope it provides a better batter fix?

▲ 2 r/eGPU

hey, sorry for repeating questions asked a thousand times, but I couldn't find a *definitive* answer to understand if my newly bought ASUS Vivobook is compatible with an eGPU.

1:1 quote from ASUS : USB 4.0 Gen 3 Type-C with support for display / power delivery (data speed up to 40Gbps). I understand it must have PCIe tunneling activate or sum, but got no idea how to check.

Based on the un-definitive answers of related threads, I'm 90% sure it is compatible. However as of my understanding, the 40GBs is more or less limiting. Therefore the connection will be a bottleneck so I shouldn't expect to plug some high end card or so. Which is completely fine, I dont need or want to play triple A's. Maybe some decent graphics on Fort or some shader-ed Minecraft. Keeping in mind the transfer bottleneck, would the eGPU make a big diff. compared to the native radeon 890m?
