Some people are never happy
If kpop artistes (specifically but not limited to females) eat one loaf of bread, they are promoting ED. If the eat a full banquet, they are performative? Where exactly do we draw the line.
I don’t know if you all have seen that video going viral on twitter where Lara and Brooklyn (dream academy) were standing together and Manon passed by and greeted brook and Lara was laughing afterwards. People are calling Lara a bully, using Indian derogatory words on her and are going beyond. I mean, when I saw the video, Lara looked outside the video clip and saw something and laughed. We don't know if it’s 100% Manon. When Manon gets lazy accusations, everyone blames the editing of the show. But other misunderstandings like this, no one bats an eye. Don’t you think all this was all to stir up discourse. I’m sure that we all 100% know that show was messed up. Why do we keep using it then against the girls?
One thing about me is that I usually don't like pulling the “if a gg did this” card, but clearly, in this case, a gg did this, and the different turnouts show clear misogyny in K-pop. Some of you might say, “Wonyoung and Liz are already slim... blah blah blah,” but no, there are no excuses. As long as they are happy with their body, who are we to judge? There is absolutely nothing wrong with both videos; someone like me prefers dance workouts over regular Pilates any day. But why are the responses different? Why can’t we just coexist and understand each other? This is a very nuanced topic, but I am just really tired of how gg’s are treated. And guess what? The worst part is that it's women who hate on other women and the same women who support their “boys.” Note that I didn't make this post with the intent of hating on Cortis or forming malice, I just want a mutual meaningful discussion on how you view misogyny in kpop spaces.
Comments proving my point…..
