Who decides it's OK to turn off power to an entire hospital without warning the nursing staff?
I'm in the hospital after major surgery. My mother was with me when this happened. At around 9 PM my room went completely dark, not even emergency lights came on. My mom stuck her head out the door and confirmed the entire hospital was dark, not just our room, and every nurse she could see was in a full sprint, carrying an oxygen tank. They all appeared to be going to different locations. I stayed put and power came back roughly 8 minutes later. Once things were calm (no more running nurses) I went for a walk. I talked to the nurses and found out there was work being done on the electrical system. Planned work. I suspected and got confirmation that they'd been working all day. Did anyone tell them this would be happening and give them a chance to prepare? NO. I'm so mad FOR them. I'm very fortunate to not be actively dependent on machines keeping me alive, but not everyone here can say that. It's a hospital for crying out loud!!
