The sockets my work don’t want to splash out on fixing asap

The sockets my work don’t want to splash out on fixing asap

So essentially a steam pipe burst a long time ago that they delayed fixing til everything was water damaged then when they did the bare minimum to fix it they just let everything dry out naturally then repainted it. Now, who would’ve guessed, the steam pipe broke again and apparently the waters evolved to socket torture. Day 4 btw no electrician in sight

16-year-old Travis Lewis murdered 72-year-old Sally Snowden McKay and her nephew in Arkansas.

Sally's daughter Martha chose forgiveness instead of hatred. As a devout Buddhist, she wrote to Lewis in prison for decades, visited him, and campaigned for his parole.

When he was released in 2018, she gave him a job and a place to live at the restored Snowden House, the same property where he had killed her mother.

In March 2020, after a dispute over stolen money, Lewis murdered 63-year-old Martha McKay in the home. He later drowned while fleeing police. The tragic case highlights the limits of radical forgiveness.

PTSD During 4th of July

I have been dreading the 4th. Even as an autistic child, I HATED fireworks... covered my ears and hid under the table with my dog.

Every time a firework goes off I jump, immediately get anxious, paranoid, clench my entire body, and feel the need to hide. No one seems to acknowledge how hard the 4th of July is for people with PTSD.

With PTSD you spend months, weeks, or days anticipating it. During the day on the 3rd and 4th I become so filled with dread. It is so much more difficult for me this year PTSD wise. I try to prep. I do take a sleeping pill early to drown out the noise. But god damn is it exhausting. I feel more terrified than I already normally am and have for the last 5 years now. I hate this day so much.

If you or someone you know struggles with PTSD please give them a little extra love today. I hope you guys are hanging in there. Thinking about you all today.

"It's not mine, so I don't care" mentality?!

I work in a rental for film equipment and this is how both of our newest (literally just bought) Nanlux Evoke 2400B came back from their first time being out on set..

WHAT the HELL did they do with 'em???

This is extremely infuriating not only because how the hell are you treating things that aren't yours?! Plus each set should be at least about 5000€.

PLUS what about the people after you who want to rent those lights??? Of course, a scratch or damage can happen but what is this?? Did they play football downhill with it?

EDIT: One lamp actually had to go into repair because of coming back damaged. Also there is more than just one picture

The amount of mail the VA sends in one month to a hospitalized veteran.

I've been taking care of my elderly neighbor's cat and grabbing his mail while he's been in the hospital, and now ICU. Pretty sure he knows he has medical bills. We don't need to kill 100 trees to remind him. Merica!

Flag waving neighbors

Ok one of my neighbors decided everyone needs a us flag in their lawn for the 4th..so they came around when people werent at home and put them in peoples lawns. I am not patriotic and i am against nationalism. It irritated the fuck out of me because they dont know me or what my beliefs are yet went ahead and did that.

I know it sounds petty. I went out last night and yanked it out and tbrew it away. Its just that it annoyed me. I wouldnt have the temerity to do what they did. Luckilynitcwasnt just done at my house. Other neighbors lawns got the "gift" too.

Had a piece of sand under my top eyelid for 5 hours yesterday. I went to the ER, and it was busy, so I spent another 9 there.

Edit: I'm not mad about the wait, I'm mad about the fact there was sand in my eye. I am well aware that my sand situation was nothing compared to the other stuff they were dealing with.

Edit 2: I've never heard of Urgent Care. My dad told me to go to the ER, and my mom drove me. My doctor was closed that day, and I had already tried a LOT of other methods the infuriating part for me is mostly the fact I even managed to get sand in my eye. I asked my mom, she never heard of Urgent Care either

Edit 3: By the way, I didn't KNOW I had sand in my eye. I woke up with something in my eye, and was confused. After hours and hours of trying to get it out, my dad said I should go to the ER, and my mom took me. It should also be mentioned that there was also a person with rabies who came in after me, and they also had to wait until the same time as me. (they were sent in the same time I was, and treated rightfully first. 2 other people were also sent in at this time). It wasn't like everyone was going in before me, and I was mad about that. The annoying part of the wait was the fact I couldn't really see or do anything. Just to make it clear, I do not blame anyone at the hospital for the wait, I blame the stupid sand in my eye. Anyways, edit done.

I couldn't really use my phone because I had to constantly look towards the bottom left or it would HURT. It was incredibly boring. Busy day, a lot of people ahead of me, which I understand.

Best of all, it turned out that I wasn't losing my mind while in the ER, and there WAS a second speck of sand in my eye, which I only realised WHEN I GOT GOT HOME.

Unlike the first speck it wasn't stuck (the doctor commented on how the first speck was lodged into the upper right of my eye), so after a good night's sleep, my eye got the second speck out. My eye is very red and sore, but I can look around without it hurting now at least! (I know it wasn't just a scratch because it would move around)

It's funny, because we didn't even spend a long time at the beach 2 days ago, and I rinsed my legs and didn't touch the sand with my hands. That's what I get for not showering before I got in my bed ig.

Credit hassle from hell

So today I was going to purchase a laptop. I decided on HP and applied for and was approved for a HP credit account, with special financing options on purchases over a certain amount. I went through everything with the customer service Rep and was ready to checkout. When I tried to click on HP financing it took me back to the page to prequalify. I told the rep about this and they said well I wasn't approved then . I told them I was approved and accepted the offer and received the disclosures for the account from the bank via email. This rep still refused to be of any help to me, was snarky ,and I was transferred to someone else. Same song and dance literally all day. No help whatsoever. At one point I did do the prequalify page again and it verified I do have an account and what to select to checkout with my account. I told the reps this and they insisted it was a problem on my end after I cleared cache like they asked and the problem still persisted. I also called the bank and they verified yes I have an account and there is no issue with it. They tried to help me check out and verified it's a glitch on the HP site. After all that I just told HP never mind I would shop elsewhere and I called the bank back to close the account. I also requested that the hard inquiry and the account be removed from my file because I wasn't able to utilize it. They refused stating I opened the account and authorized the inquiry. So you mean to tell me that you think it's ok to put an inquiry on someone's report ( costs you points) , and open an account which lessens the amount of time you have credit history and not let them use the account? I'm beyond pissed and will be filing a complaint with the consumer protection agency because that is not fair reporting. I was never given any access to that account and it was opened for zero days and I requested it to be closed and removed. I'm not mildly infuriated I'm absolutely pissed. I did research and I know exactly what to put it on the complaints to the credit reporting agencies and the consumer protection agency to force them to remove it. Absolutely ridiculous. Now I have to waste more time talking to the three credit reporting agencies and the time to file the complaint with the consumer protection agency. Long story short but a computer elsewhere. FFS

My country(srilanka) made it illegal to walk, run,or even stand in the street with headphones on 🫠

Like i would understand that if they made it illegal to use them while crossing the road but nope I cant even listen to music on my morning run without getting arrested and spending a night in jail 🙏😭.

My doctor’s office is ignoring important referrals with deadlines

And there’s been 0 communication. Apparently they’re short staffed, but that doesn’t excuse them missing deadlines to file referrals for extremely important surgeries. I need to get a surgery soon but I can’t even get a consultation because of this. I can’t even escalate this. And I can’t see the surgeon without a referral.

Amazon now requires you to sign in to even SHOW product reviews.

Started off with not being able to view all pictures from reviews without signing in, now this. I fully expected it though. Not surprising at all. Just very infuriating.
