Theft in the train [OC]

Here I am sharing my part of the story. I am travelling by 3AC for the next 40 hours. There are only 3 seats occupied in our compartment which is next to the door. My seat number is 7. I slept at around 6 pm. When I woke up at 7:15 pm, sometime back, I saw this man sitting outside taking out something from the bag of a passenger in the seat ahead of mine. As the train was not completely occupied, this person took out something from the bag, looked around and went out. When I started to record, he started going out towards my phone hence I could not record his face. I am worried about what to do? Should I file a complaint?

Before you start judging me, I am scared that I will complain and the RPF guys give my name, I could get caught by him or his people.

Children are cute and honest, grown ups are handsome and evil

Time flies in no time. Pictures taken as kids and teens

One was taken in 1995 and the order one in 2010

15 years of time had so much in store for all 3 of us.

Now, 16 years from 2010, it would have been great to post a picture of 3 of us but now we don't meet anymore. No time to meet and get together as all of us are super busy in our busy life.

Basically, we are all related, cousins

Visit to my ansectral home in Kashmir India after 36 years

Recently, I gathered the courage to visit my ancestral home in Kashmir. We left this home in Feb 1990 and I was born a month after we left it because we had to run for our life.

We had 19 rooms in this home with around 13 family members and 3 kids. When my family had to run overnight from Kashmir, we left all of us we had, hired a truck, somehow fit us all with a few clothes and left the home. We moved to Jammu from Kashmir which was a 12 hour drive during those days by road. My mother was 8 months pregnant and my aunt had delivered my cousin 2 months back.

There was a list of people created and pasted by the so-called jihadis and terrorists of all prominent kashmiri pandits on the walls in the main market. Unfortunately, my grandfather's and my father's names were there in the list. They could have been killed any moment after the list was released.

When we somehow reached Jammu alive, we did not have a home in jammu. All the family members lived in a single room from more than 10 rooms in the native home. I cannot believe what our families and many other families like ours must have gone through.

People died of intense heat in Jammu as they were not used to such harsh conditions and also from snake bites as most of them didnot get a house to live in so they lived in tents in large grounds.

My recent visit to my house made me realise how hard we worked post the Genocide in 1990 and we have done so well to reach the where we are today. One of the most hardworking communities of all times, "Kashmiri Pandits"

[Homemade] Kashmiri Dumaloo

This is the picture of a kashmiri cuisine called Dum aloo. It is the kebab of vegetarian food in kashmiris

You will find dum aloo in every kashmiri wedding. It is one of the authentic vegetables served in Kashmir

One of the most important ingredients of this cuisine is the kashmiri masale like Red Chilly powder, sauf powder, khade masale etc

An authentic dum aloo melts in your mouth after taking a bite.

I have seen many restaurants in Pune serve dum aloo however they are no where close to the actual dum aloo in picture

Worst seat you can get in any train [OC]

The worst seat in any train is the seat next to the door. It is not easy to get sleep when you unfortunately get a seat next to the door. Plus you always remain concerned that your items might get stolen

Dirty Food and Fake mineral water sold everywhere in India

I would like to share a concerning issue that is happening all across India. A few days back I went to Ujjain and Omkareshwar temples in Madhya Pradesh with my parents. We went by train from Pune by Indore Pune express. During our journey while going from Pune, we took our own food and water.

We stayed in MP for 3 days. Booked a hotel in Omkareshwar as there is hardly any homestay with a kitchen facility there. As a result, had to eat lunch and dinner on 5th Sep in a hotel called Hotel Guru Kripa near our stay in Omkareshwar. It was one of the worst meals we have ever had in our lives. Too much masala in the sabzi whether it was paneer or dal, we had ordered a Thali for 220 each.

After a few hours of eating our lunch, my parents who are senior citizens started feeling bloating and indigestion. Unfortunately, the food that we ate was not clean and unhygienic.

Next morning we left for Ujjain in a cab and luckily we had booked an Airbnb in Ujjain which was a great and comfortable stay for 1 and half days where we cooked our own meals.

Throughout this trip, we drank only mineral water from different companies like Bisleri, Aquarich and Rococo and many others in trains and at other locations.

While returning back on 7th September by Indore Pune express which we boarded from Ujjain, we purchased Rococo mineral water which looked suspicious to me. However, since there was no option, we had to drink it.

After reaching home yesterday, all 4 family members of my family including me became a victim of food poisoning with symptoms like Severe stomach pain, non stop loose motions, vomiting and fever. My mother was impacted the most which I guess depends on the immunity.

My question is when and how will this stop? Nowadays it is not safe to go out anywhere in India because of this adulterated food and water we get almost everywhere. We need to raise our voice against this. We need more and more officers like Sh Tukaram Mundhe who are working tirelessly against such vendors in our country.

2023 World Cup Final - India vs Australia - Sachin caught by McGrath for 4 - Match ended then and there for me

My side of story of the 2003 Cricket World Cup:

I remember this match as a kid as I was just 12 years old. I was a huge Sachin fan who would cry whenever Sachin would get out especially in big matches.

I still remember clearly, i had gone to my uncle's home all the way from my home walking for around 5 km to watch the final - India vs Australia.

My hero " Sachin" was in the form of his life in the 2003 world cup having thrashed Pakistan in a match earlier in the world cup.

I was very nervous that day as it was a final of the world cup and last time India had lifted the world cup was in 1983 when I was not even born

I really wanted India to win and Sachin "MY HERO" to score a 100.

It all started with that horrendous over by Zaheer Khan who gave away more than 15 runs in the very 1st over. I wanted to watch Sachin bat but it was Australia that won the toss and asked India to field.

As the match progressed, my mood started to get bad and hopes of winning the world cup fainted.

After nearly 4 hours of waiting, it came down to that moment when Sachin came to bat. That short off McGrath in the 1st over to score a boundary got hopes back and i continued watching in anticipation.

But but but, then came that attempt to pull the ball towards the deep mid wicket and the upper side of the bat lofted the ball in the air which was eventually caught by Glen McGrath.

Tears rolled down my eyes which i wanted to control and hide from others but could not.

I did not eat dinner that day and avoided speaking to anyone at home

Sachin won MOTS award but India lost the World Cup!

What is your such MOMENT about Sachin when your heart was broken???

Suspicious activity identified in my ongoing train journey

I’m currently on a train journey and noticed that the right toilet door in my coach has been locked for over two hours. My seat is right near the toilet, and the indicator light has stayed red the entire time.

I’m not sure what the best course of action is. Should I:

Knock on the door and ask if someone is inside?

Raise a complaint on Rail Madad?

Inform the TTE to come and check?

Any advice or suggestions on how to handle this would be appreciated!

VIP culture in India, common man is too common for anything good [OC]

I became a victim of this VIP culture in Mahakal Corridor in Ujjain. My elderly parents were not allowed to take a battery vehicle however at the same time young and other VIP people were allowed to take the vehicle without any 2nd thought. I felt so helpless as a common citizen of this wonderful country where we commoners are treated like animals and only rich people are treated like human beings. Mahakal created human beings and we created the rich and poor. So sorry for all people out there who are like me and suffer such behaviour every now and then. May Lord Shiva bless us all
