Just switched to Fastmail after Gmail feature deprecation. Loving it!

Gmail announced a couple of days ago that they're sunsetting their "Send as" feature for externally hosted email addresses. See thread in r/GMail.

This change completely cripples my workflow, so I immediately started looking for alternatives. I hadn't heard about Fastmail before, but it came up in my search. So I started a free trial yesterday.

And I'm pleasantly surprised by how quickly I came to love Fastmail! I'm amazed that it feels like a seamless drop-in replacement for Gmail. It has every feature I need for my workflows, such as "Send as" and "Schedule send". The web and Android app experience feels modern and polished.

I completed my account setup and data migration within a day. And already I'm up and running with all my workflows on Fastmail, and everything already feels so natural.

I know it must have taken a lot of hard work to build such a polished product. So I just wanted to give a shout out to the Fastmail team for your great work! You may see other Gmail refugees come to your shores in the coming weeks, haha.

Dealing with pride from people complimenting me for my preaching

I felt stirred today to confess to Jesus that I secretly want and enjoy my church family praising me for my sermons.

Just yesterday I received many compliments after the service. Some of it was just the usual polite "thank you for your message" remarks. But quite a few people also shared heartfelt expressions of gratitude about how exactly my message spoke to their heart or their current needs, and how much they liked my preaching style specifically.

Outwardly, I always deflect the praise back to Jesus. I give glory to him for his word and his work. And I really, really do mean it. But... I realize there's also a part of me that does revel in the way people see me front and center, and how they like my preaching.

I wish I could say I don't ever covet this praise. But if I'm being totally honest, right now this is indeed part of what keeps motivating me in my preaching ministry.

Fellow shepherds... what has been your experience wrestling with this? Any words of wisdom for how to deal with this subtle wickedness in my heart...?

Transaction search by amount doesn't work when the number ends in zero?

Has anyone else run into this? When I search among my transactions for an amount like "31.10" where the cents amount ends in zero, I get no results. But if I search for a partial value like "31.1" then I do get the matching results.

Unless I'm missing something, this looks like a bug...? This is kinda annoying as I often try to reconcile transactions by copying and pasting the amount directly from my financial institution's site, and I keep getting no matches for such values.

Is it just me?
