Braided Fritters - Letterbox Doughnuts - Toronto, ON

** BRAIDED APPLE FRITTER **

Filled with apple chunks and pie filling that's cooked down with nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger. Sugar glaze to finish off.

** BRAIDED MANGO FRITTER **

Filled with mango chunks, glazed with mango puree, and topped with roasted pistachios.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This Toronto gem does custom donuts. You can basically come up with any ideas and they'll make it happen. Letters, numbers, shapes, and objects are some of the ones they make, and you can even tweak the appearance of glazes.

Recently, I got their braided fritters aka fruit twists. These are made the exact way traditional fritters are made, using a yeast raised dough and are fried. Apple is available everyday, but mango is the current seasonal pick.

They are massive and somewhat hefty, but the actual dough is soft with a slight crispy exterior. The fillings are absolutely delish, and I like how they use both a type of apple pie filling and chunks for the insides.

I really liked their take on the classic fritter. The apple one is truly amazing, and as a huge fan of fritters, is surely worth it for its uniqueness, and vibrant flavours.

Cops Donuts - Toronto, ON

Cops specializes in mini donuts that are made fresh to order using a cake style base. This box is the Trio, which has a total of 18 and 3 flavours.

It contains the two core ones ( OG Glaze & Cinnamon sugar), alongside weekly feature for Aug 3 - 9 (Chocolate Miso glaze with crushed pretzel). Size is about 2" in diameter.

I had them moments after they were made, so were still warm and delicious! They are bite sized, pillowy, and does have bit of a melt in mouth vibe going on.

The OG glaze is made with a sour cream & sweetened milk mix, but my fav was easily the cinnamon sugar. I can see myself getting a box of just those next time cause they were that good!

Churro Meets Cruller? - Cafe Baffico - Hamilton, ON

** DULCE DE LECHE CHURRO CRULLER **

A hand piped choux pastry donut generously tossed in cinnamon sugar & drizzled with dulce de leche.

_________________________________________________________________________

If there's one thing I always look forward to at Cafe Baffico, it's these hand piped crullers. They're regularly sold on weekends only, and are part of a rotating lineup that changes monthly.

Churro is their top selling cruller, but this one had a twist with drizzles of dulce de leche. Even so, it has a cinnamon forward flavour complemented by a rich, buttery base, while warmer notes kept it from being too sweet.

Gives a satisfying crunch in every bite that transitions to a soft and delicate inside. Perfectly balanced and hits all the right notes when it comes to taste.

If you love crullers or anything cinnamon, then these are a no brainer.

Unholy Donuts - Maitland St, Toronto, ON

** FERRERO ROCHER CRUNCH **

Filled with choc pastry cream, topped with Belgian choc, feuilletine flakes, and crispy pearls. Drizzled with nutella, finished off with Ferrero Rocher bon bon.

** BANANA DELIGHT **

Filled with banana pastry cream, topped with Belgian caramel choc and graham crumbs.

_________________________________________________________________________

Love this spot for their unique, one of a kind brioche donuts. Whenever I feel for something extra special that's a bit over the top, this is my go to.

Menu ranges from simple classic styles, to more premium gourmet options that have some of the most complex and creative builds in Toronto.

Toppings/dips are multi layered for texture, not to mention good amount of filling, so size and feel can be substantial. However, the base itself is soft, and retains a plush poofy stance that never seems to get soggy nor bog down over time.

Flavour wise, insaaane! Banana Delight was out of this world. The few chunks within the filling made a difference with projection, and the dip was absolutely fantastic.

Ferrero Rocher Crunch was a banger too! Super rich, indulgent, yet not too sweet. I'm starting to dig feuilletine as a topping, and together with the choc pearls it just made everything more enjoyable.

Homies Donuts - Scarborough, ON

** BOSTON CREAM **

** NUTELLA **

** LEMON POMEGRANATE **

** REESE'S **

** STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE **

** THE HOMER **

_________________________________________________________________________

Montreal based donut shop from Quebec that recently opened their first Ontario location in East Toronto. There's also one in NYC.

Solid variety too choose from amongst rotating flavours, and they are sensational!

The lemon pomegranate was better than expected. Had a strawberry glaze but was toned down by the tartness of the filling. I didnt mind the fruit seeds either since it added to texture.

Harry & Heels Donuts - Best Fritter in Toronto, ON

** MAPLE DIP **

** BLUEBERRY FILLED **

** GLAZED TOASTED COCONUT **

** APPLE FRITTER **

** SOUR CREAM GLAZED **

** CHOC CHERRY FILLED **

These guys are an absolute gem! Amazing donuts, but the star of the show is undeniably their apple fritter.

It's the best in Toronto, and I've had my fair share of fritters from all over the city. Has a darker and deeply caramelized exterior compared to most out there.

Perfect texture all around. Craggly, crunchy shell yet so soft and moist. Also got a decent amount of filling and cinnamon presence.

If you're in Toronto seeking that holy grail fritter, then look no further.

Maple Eclair Donut Spotted

Anyone else seen these lately? I've heard before that some locations carry them from time to time, and this was at the one right off 401/ Hurontario.

Don't think it's considered a dream donut, but just a specialty item if I'm not mistaken.

Pretty much a Long John with a light fluffly whipped cream filling, but was overall more sweet than a Canadian maple.

Edit: (just to clarity it's the location that has a Wendy's inside. 44 Britannia Rd E.)

Fluffy Glaze - Guelph, ON

** SKOR / REESE'S PIECES / STRAWBERRY / BISCOFF / OREO / COCONUT **

_________________________________________________________________________

Fluffy Glaze specializes in ring donuts, and their signature is the classic ring, also known as Fluffy Glaze. There's also filled ones on menu though a rather limited selection.

These donuts are very similar in size, structure, looks, and mouthfeel to Krispy Kreme's. The classic, strawberry, chocolate, and maple rings in particular are quite identical. But what sets them apart is how they're made from scratch daily, using natural cleaner ingredients.

The texture is bright white, cloud like, and instantly collapses when you bite into it. Unmistakably soft and airy. Every ring donut is also fully coated in glaze before dips or toppings are applied which helps lock moisture in.

Delicious, flavourful, rich, and not excessively sweet. I find the prices reasonable, they're sure worth every penny.

Albert's Doughnuts - Cambridge, ON

** MAPLE DIP **

** BLACK FOREST **

Cherry & whipped cream filling.

** TOASTED COCONUT **

Glazed toasted coconut with venetian filling.

** APPLE FRITTER **

** BLUEBERRY FRITTER **

_________________________________________________________________________

My new favorite donut shop outside of the GTA, Albert's is the real deal and sure knows what he's doing. Some of the things he informed me about was his use of fresh yeast, and avoiding commercial pre mixes all together, so everything is made from scratch daily with love and passion.

Donuts are massive but have perfect texture and flavour, it's like eating clouds. They're incredibly soft, airy, and fluffy. Taste amazing, and aren't overly sweet nor greasy.

Was pretty impressed with everything. First time for me but surely won't be the last. Highly recommend to give them a try if you're in the Waterloo region.

Highly recommend these guys if you're ever in the Western GTA. Their donuts are always fresh, rich, and packed with flavour.

I like how there's a Marge Simpson donut, something you don't really see too often, which I really enjoyed.

My favs from their core line up would be anything sprinkles, and the fruit filled ones.

Cafe Baffico - Hamilton, ON

** HAMILTON CREAM **

Filled with vanilla pastry cream, dipped in house chocolate glaze.

** CHERRY PISTACHIO DIPPER **

Dipped in cherry glaze with a pistachio glaze drizzle.

** TOBLERONUT **

Dipped in house chocolate glaze, and rimmed with crushed toblerone and toasted almonds.

** WHITE CHOC RASPBERRY CRULLER **

Dipped in white chocolate glaze with raspberry glaze drizzle.

_________________________________________________________________________

This hidden gem is located in the east end of Hamilton, offering a warm, welcoming vibe and a neighbourhood feel.

They're a hybrid cafe that does really amazing sourdough donuts and pizza, which are naturally leavened. Only exceptions would be crullers and old fashioned donuts.

Their house chocolate dip is really freakin good, and the donuts are quite soft and light. But the Hamilton Cream in particular was like airy fluff and was sooo delish.

One of the newest shops in Toronto that recently opened their doors back in Oct 2025. Located on St. Clair Ave, the shop has a clean modern look along a vibrant interior.

Donuts were incredible! The fillings were all super amazing, and not over the top. Flavours were spot on, and they all tasted exactly as they should.

Aveiro Bakery - Oakville, ON

**Bola Berlim / OG / Sprinkles / Nutella Biscoff / Powdered Biscoff Filled**

Came back for Bola Berlim this time, but ended up grabbing a box of 4. There was a slight mix up with order, so they threw in a complimentary powdered donut and nata, which I thought was very nice of them.

Bola Berlim is a Portugese style yeast donut filled with a custard or vanilla type of cream, and topped with granulated sugar. The filling seemed to be blended with whipped cream. Delicious and rather subtly sweet.

Their filled powdered donuts are actually minis and options for those are - lemon, raspberry, nutella, and biscoff (perhaps seasonal).

Another local gem in Toronto and one of my top favourites, Fab's is known for their insanely delicious fritters and filled donuts.

Flavours were all distinctive, true to their names, and had great depth. Texture was quite soft, pillowy, and easily compressible.

They were all sooo good but my favs were def the fritters.

One of the few spots in the GTA that serves fried bear claws. Here you'll also find a variety of Portugese & Italian products, as well as a hot counter that serves meals.

Being a popular item among customers, they're usually sold out by mid-morning, so these were made fresh to order. Ultimately, I'd decided to get some OGs as well.

What kind of bear claw do you fancy?

Jollibee has been around since 2018 in Ontario, Canada, but I only had it for the first time about a month ago.

Since then, I've been back a few times already, and this has become my go-to order. It's undoubtedly some of the best fast food fried chicken available here, and I can't believe I waited this long.

The gravy is sooo good. Can see why it's a staple item. Think next I'll have to try the Palabok.
