Anyone read vol 3 of Petshop of Horrors? I'd like to share my opinions and ask some questions.

By now, I have only watched the anime. And I'm quite surprised how cruel D was in the manga, compared to anime. For context, I ADORED D after watching the anime. But now I have mixed feelings. In the anime, he was rather just - despite the cruelty, he never killed anyone directly and had displayed sympathy and gentleness towards those in grief. Yes he knew they're likely gonna screw up and he'll punish them with terrible fate via his pets. But that's vastly different than seeing D keeping literal, this time HUMAN, emaciated children in a dark room, wanting to take a spoiled child there in a form of punishment (yes the child did wrong but what on earth did he mean with giving her away for HUMAN EXPERIMENTS if no one will want to adopt her?!). I always thought he hates humans because of how disgustingly vile they seem to him, but then, he says human loyality is something he will never understand?? At that moment I was like pick a side bro 😭 Also yeah, usually those were animals that looked like people, but this time, ACTUAL CHILDREN?? I was like aw hell nah. Did I somehow misunderstood anything? Also may someone help me understand - did he kill a pregnant woman in the 1st chapter? That was crazy af. Call me stupid but I was a bit confused later, with the suspect getting caught and being revealed as some trans woman (who the cop, in the English version called the fucking T SLUR?! Ok that caught me off guard...). So... Um did D do this or nah? Because that was something that turned up the level of cruelty for me as well. It was always his pets that delivered the doom, not him killing people directly. Ah, and the cannibal cook chapter. I'll be nitpicky, but why on earth was D so fucking stupid to let the creature devour him?? 😭 That didn't make much sense to me. Romance is romance, but eh... I was quite disappointed with the manga by that time l guess that I had a negative view on everything by default. Maybe it's my fault. That would be ... It. I know I sound really stupid by saying this, but I just got kinda disappointed. I really loved the morally complicated, Fae-like (in the moral sense) D and despite his hatred for humans that I knew about, I saw him as more nuanced than just outright evil. And I guess it's just not what I expected. Feel free to disagree with me. Also I was reading in an environment where I could hardly concentrate or hear my own thoughts - it was so loud that when I was reading it I had to really force myself to focus on the words I'm seeing on the paper. Please be civilised in the comments, I don't want to offend anyone. Also, um, if my sentences don't make much sense or there are any grammatical errors - English is not my first language so ... Yeah. It is sometimes hard to put my thoughts into written word.

How to shoot down the balloon? [*]

So um hi! I'm completely new to the Zelda franchise and it's the first time I got to play MM and it's my first game too... Playing it on PC N64 emulator. Also I'm still Deku Link. So ....got to the point of having to talk with Jim to join the bombers squad and from what I know you have to shoot down the Majora's Mask shaped balloon that floats above the kid using the deku flower thingy and dropping the deku nut down. However whenever I want Link to fly above the balloon, he just... Can't get there. I feel almost like the wind swings him everywhere but towards the ballon and when I finally manage to get him there, he's unable to fly high enough to shoot it down, falling down quickly after it. Don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's the matter of the controls being harder to operate on PC. Please help me I can't bear being stuck on such a minor task in the game 😭

A question to Muslim people: Is making a character that appears to look like a sphinx a jinni offensive?

I want to be respectful for all the people that consider the jinn a part of their culture and I would not want to offend anyone. This has been largely unplanned, earlier but I have a character in my fan fiction made for a pre existing franchise that has never been stabilised as any type of being and is just said to be created by a desert diety who for some time acted as their mother. So, while stydying about the Arab mythology, reasonably I encountered the jinn and thought that the description of them may fit my character. This is largely just fiction, not meant to accurately portray anything religion related and the diety does not relate to any religion/was not inspired by any. The character I'm speaking of has catlike ears, lion paws and a tail but also wings. And this is the part I'm concerned of. Because from what I've been told (correct me if I'm wrong) the Egyptian people did, and do believe in the jinn, but the wings are not present on the Egyptian Sphinx, but on the Greek one. This is why, I am afraid of making it look orientalist and think whether I can even think of making the character a jinni in the first place. I could make the mishmash of the features to be a coincidence, and get her name to be different, and only later the humans identifying her with the imagine of the Sphinx and naming her such. I beg for patience and understanding and I apologise in advance for ignorance and offensiveness if there's any. I want to note that I have previously based a lot of my characters on different folklore spirits, like the Catholic Christian depiction of angels as genderless shape shifting spirits or the Irish Fae. I respect every belief, despite myself being ex-Catholic agnostic. Please be nice if possible, for I just want to learn and not offend.

Can Slappy Burn?

I really need to know, because I never saw fire mentioned as something you can defeat him with. Is he immune to fire, somehow? Did I miss something?

Can anyone help me identify this doll?

It's really beautiful but it was listed for quite an expensive price and I'm curious whether it's actually worth as much or it's just the vinted scrapers again.

Are there any songs that you could associate in your head with specific Doctor Nowhere entities?

A strange request, but as many other people, I like to think of songs that I can associate with certain characters, either by lyrics or just the vibe alone. I was wondering which ones can capture the unsettling feeling of each particular entity. I think that it would be the easiest with the Boiled One – we already know a lot about it. I personally think that "Child in Time" by Deep Purple suits him well, with the themes of apocalypse and it being told straight to the listener by the lyrical subject. Do you perhaps have any ideas yourself?
