[Test for Test] Memory: a private memory aid for seniors and people with memory loss (English/Korean). I'll test yours back for 14 days

Hi! I'm looking for testers for my closed test and will test your app back for the full 14 days. Comment your links and I'll join within a day, with a screenshot.

App: Memory, a gentle memory aid for older adults and families dealing with memory loss. It has big text, a "Today" card with the date and time, medicine reminders with an "I did it" button, "Did I take my medicine?", "Where did I put my keys?", a Help button with your address and who to call, and photos of the people you love. English and Korean, with on-device voice input. Everything stays on the phone: no account, no ads, no cloud.

How to join:

  1. testers-community@googlegroups.com is on my track, so members can go straight to step 2. Not a member? Join my group: https://groups.google.com/g/memory-app-testers
  2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.memory.local, then install from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.memory.local

Feedback I'd love: Is anything confusing or too small to read? Do reminders ring on time on your phone? Does Korean look natural? (if you read it)

Please: open it once a day and keep it installed for 14 days. A good daily check takes a minute: add a reminder a few minutes ahead, tap "I did it", and ask a question.

Thanks! 🙏

Blind Pear (Android): a dating app with no profile photos until both people agree to unlock them. Looking for feedback on onboarding and whether the photo-unlock moment makes sense.

What it does: Blind Pear is a dating app that hides profile photos. You browse people by their interests and prompt answers, and photos only unlock when both people agree to unlock them. The bet is that you pick who to talk to based on what someone actually wrote rather than one good photo.

Try it (Android, free, closed test):

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/blindpear-testers

  2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.hwansung505.startupfriend6ph8N

  3. Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hwansung505.startupfriend6ph8N

What I actually want feedback on:

  1. Onboarding. Where do you stall or get bored? It is the step I have the least visibility into.

  2. Writing prompt answers. Are the prompts ones you have something to say to, or do they feel like homework?

  3. The photo unlock. When you hit it, is it obvious what just happened and what you agreed to? This is the core mechanic and the thing most likely to confuse someone who has used any other dating app.

  4. Does browsing without photos feel freeing or does it feel like something is missing?

Honest heads up: it is a real dating app, so testing means making a real profile. If that is not for you, no worries.

Happy to return the favour on anything Android you are testing.

[12 Testers Needed] Culdesac, an app for finding local run clubs, book clubs and community events. Testing yours back today.

What it is: Culdesac helps you find local clubs and community events (run clubs, book clubs, hiking groups, board game nights) and start your own. Free, no ads.

Join the Google Group first, that is what grants access: https://groups.google.com/g/culdesac-testers

Then opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.yourculdesac.app

Then install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourculdesac.app

Please stay opted in the full 14 days.

Test for test, and I mean it: post your links and I will install today and send you specific notes, not "nice app". Tell me which screen you are unsure about and I will focus there.

What is useful to hit in mine: sign up, the map on the home tab, opening a club, creating an event. Toronto, Vancouver, Guelph, London ON, Seattle, Atlanta and Seoul have real clubs and events loaded. Other cities will look empty, that is expected and not a bug.

Known rough edge: voice messages are hidden in this build, so ignore that.

[Need 12 testers] Culdesac: find local run clubs, book clubs and community events near you. Happy to test yours back for 14 days.

Culdesac helps you find local clubs and community events (run clubs, book clubs, hiking groups, board game nights) and organize your own. Free to use. There is an optional premium subscription you never need to touch for testing.

How to join, takes about 2 minutes:

  1. Join the Google Group first, this is what grants access: https://groups.google.com/g/culdesac-testers

  2. Give it a few minutes, then become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.yourculdesac.app

  3. Install from the link on that page: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourculdesac.app

  4. Please keep it installed and stay opted in for the full 14 days. If anyone opts out early, Google restarts the 14 day counter for everyone.

I will test yours back the same day and stay opted in the full 14 days. Drop your group link and opt-in link in the comments and I will confirm once I am in.

Feedback very welcome, especially on signup and the map. Toronto, Vancouver, Guelph, London ON, Seattle, Atlanta and Seoul have real clubs and events loaded, so those cities have the most to look at.

Need help people to brutally roast my app

Hi guys, my friend and I are building a dating app where profiles have no photos initially. The idea is that we want users to connect based on their interests and personality before seeing what the other person looks like. We hope it can match people that wouldn't otherwise match, and if it doesn't work out then you would've made a good friend at least.

We are getting ready to publish it however we need help with testing the android version before we can actually publish (Google Play Store's requirement)

If you want to test and give feedback on the iphone version feel free to reach out as well, but we mainly are looking for android users. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Would a 30-second window to join a match be fun or annoying?

I've been building a small dating app for UofT students only, and I'm debating on a feature.

When someone accepts a match, the other person has 30 seconds to join the app. The idea is that you know they're actually around and can talk. The obvious problem is that most people aren't staring at their phone all day, especially during class. The rest of the app is photo-free at first. Profiles show interests and prompt answers, and photos can be shared later if both people agree.

Does the 30-second window sound exciting, or would it make you ignore the app? I'm running a quiet Android test right now, so DM me if you want to try it.
