Aspero 61cm for tall rider - go or no go?

Calling out fellow tall riders. I'm 6'6 and lots of legs.

I'm looking for a N+1 to complete the hardtail and full suspension stable. I want something for long miles days.

I've been all over the realm of bikes and still on the fence. - heck I might even wait for a 32".

Jenson is having a sale on the Aspero Apex AXS. $2700

Any other tall riders that can chime in? Maybe someone that has a XL could let me see how it fits? I'm in AZ

6'6" Rider Looking for Gravel Bike Fit Advice (QuickPro XR vs GT8 vs Seigla)

I'm looking for some input from other tall riders and anyone with experience fitting gravel bikes.

I'm 6'6" (198 cm) with a 38.5" PBH/inseam and am looking to buy my first dedicated gravel bike. My goal is an adventure-oriented setup for long days in the saddle, comfort, and stability. I'm not looking for an aggressive race position and would like to avoid a huge saddle-to-bar drop.

For reference:

Current MTB

  • Full-suspension bike
  • Reach: 521 mm
  • Stack: 649 mm

Previous Road Bike

  • Radon R1 2018, size 63 cm
  • Reach: ~468 mm
  • Stack: ~475 mm
  • 120 mm stem
  • 460 mm handlebars

I was comfortable on the Radon and never felt overly stretched out.

My current gravel shortlist is:

Quick Pro XR (XXL)

  • Reach: 426 mm
  • Stack: 638 mm
  • Effective Top Tube: 615 mm
  • Stem options: 70-100 mm

XDS Labs GT8 (XXL)

  • Reach: 408 mm
  • Stack: 631 mm
  • Effective Top Tube: 604 mm

Lauf Seigla (XL)

  • Reach: 416 mm
  • Stack: 623 mm
  • Effective Top Tube: 607 mm

Based on geometry alone, the QuickPro XR seems like the best fit because of the taller stack, but I'm wondering if the longer reach might be an issue. On the other hand, the GT8 may be more comfortable but could feel cramped compared to my previous road-bike setup.

Some of my questions:

  1. Which of these geometries would you choose for a 6'6" rider with a 38.5" inseam?
  2. Would you lean toward a 70 mm, 80 mm, or 90 mm stem on the XR? I'm thinking 80mm myself.
  3. Are there any red flags in these geometry numbers that I'm missing?
  4. For those around my height, what stack and reach numbers have worked well for comfortable all-day gravel riding?
  5. Should I wait for the 32'? :)

I've also reached out to a professional bike fitter and am waiting for confirmation on when to jump on the Retul, but I'd love to hear real-world experiences from other tall riders before making a decision.

WTB: XL Lauf Seigla

Missed out on a Pinkbike deal and the second one won't deal with Bike Flights.

I'm newly divorced and want a new bike but my budget is not the same as it used to be.

Anyone interested in selling a XL Seigla with a medium or higher end spec'ed build?

Any leads would be appreciated as well. I've looked at PB, BuyCycle, Pro closet, eBay and FB.

I'm in Arizona and can travel for 15 hours if needed

2024 Lauf Seigla Ultimate - go or no go?

Edit: I'm second in line to make a purchase. Someone local to the seller is trying it out today.

Tall rider here, and I think I will be able to make the XL work.

I have found a second-hand, good-condition Ultimate spec for $2500. Details from the ad below. I race XC on my hardtail and play around on slabs on my enduro bike. N+1 because I need to get smiles in on longer rides here in Southern Arizona.

Is this a good deal for $2500?

Recommendations for built it sub

Hi all.

I recently lost my Sonos Beam and Mini sub in a divorce. I'm looking for a new soundbar that will fit with my Hisense 50 that I have mounted on a floor stand.

I now live in a apartment and can't do a floor sub now cause budget but also it will ruin my relationship with Debbie downstairs.

I can see that Hisense has a A620 for about $170. Anything else that I should look at?
