JRPG for someone who’s not a fan of JRPGs

I like RPGs usually the western ones, but I’ve never got into a JRPG. What’s a good starting point on Switch 2. Things that have turned me off in the past are the melodrama, particularly teenage angstyness, overly cute J tropes and grinding for experience. With that in mind what should I aim for?

Art style wise I’m not keen on cute chibi art, open to 2D / HD2D or full 3D, basically as long as the art direction is good.

Keen to hear!
