Adult swimming lessons?

I'm looking at getting swimming lessons for my friend, preferably in the Parklands area of Nairobi (student). Any recommendations or suggestions on the going rate?

Thank you

The stupid AMEX passport did it's job🤣

I am in Cambodia and have been having a very difficult time getting a swipe on my AMEX to fill in the country on the "passport" (I carry my visa CSP with me because of this) - even Starbucks didn't accept it. I was about to go to the Park Hyatt just to buy something and get a swipe in Cambodia, when I stumbled across a huge, international grocery store (3 floors).

I figured that they may accept it, so I bought 2 packs of wine gums ($5 minimum spend for cards). When I went to use the plat, the cashier said "oh" and ran off. She came back with a completely different reader than the 2 already at the register, that had the AMEX logo on it.

So, long story, but mission successful!

Damn you, Amex... Your little gimmick got me 🤣

Eye doctor in Nairobi?

I lost my glasses in transit and need an eye doctor who can prescribe glasses with prisms in them (or just take my prescription I have and order glasses for me - a prescription from a different country).

Does anyone have any recommendations in Nairobi?

Thanks

AU A320neo FC question

I have a flight coming up on the (newish) A320neo in the front of the plane (2-2 layout, 2 rows).

2 questions:

  1. In the second row, can you recline fully (7") or does the bulkhead behind restrict you?

  2. Do the bulkhead row 1 seats restrict your legroom if you are 6' tall? Typical bulkheads restrict my legs from being able to fully stretch out (since they can't go under the seat in front of you), but I have found on SOME planes that the premium cabin doesn't do this.

I typically choose the 2nd row to avoid both of these issues, but there isn't a "middle row" in this configuration.

Thank you!!

T4 Lounge war: VS Clubhouse (non-PP) OR Centurion Loungel

I have access to the Clubhouse (not PP, but from my ticket) or the Centurion Lounge. What do you recommend?

Maybe arrive a little early to grab an Espresso Martini at the 1850 Speakeasy (Centurion) on my way to the Clubhouse, if no morning line at the Centurion lounge?

Thanks!

Taking Amtrak to PHL

Hey,

What is the best way to get from Harrisburg to PHL International Airport via Amtrak? Is there a stop at the airport, or would I need to get off at 30th Street and Uber to it? If so, it may make more sense to just drive and pay for airport parking for a week or two?

Thanks!

Auto collision garage

Hey,

So, I was just involved in an accident on Forster (sorry if it caused any traffic!). Was not at fault, but now my car needs fixed. My garage (Firestone) doesn't do body repair/collision.

Does anyone have any recommendations for garages that do? I live in Harrisburg, so preferably on this side of the river.

Thanks!

If you are flying JamboJet domestic from JKIA (domestic terminal 1D), do you have lounge access with an Amex Plat? I know 1D has a Plaza Premium lounge, but only international (aka not for domestic departures), but are there any others that 1D domestic can access?

I know that there is a lounge in T2, but JamboJet only seems to use 1D. I'm flying to Malindi and really want to show a friend her first airport lounge.

Thanks!
