Almost a week now
All the reminders of my dog passing are getting better and I can live with it compared to the first couple of days. I was very attach to my GS he was only 8.5 years old very active always played at the park and made him run.
Where I’m at now is more when I walk into my home he’s not there to block the door, unlocking to go inside feels empty. I take walks with my 4 year old daughter to the park every so often and I remember when he use to pull me to start smelling the bushes along the park. I keep looking at those spots he was once amazed with and it just hits me. Certain part of the time passes during the day and I always have a feeling where about in the house he’ll be lying down and I’ll look at those spots. I know I’m getting better slowly but because of the sudden passing it really gets to me. I try to believe even if I went sooner to the vet it would have still be the same outcome today. I start chores around the house and freeze and just reflect back how it was not long ago.
On the last day I brought him for a nice walk not too much but just so he can get excited and smell nature before I headed out to work. My gf came home shortly after to find him acting weird ( drinking water and peeing ) he was drinking a lot of water more than eating. That was the same day he checked out and never return home I said my goodbyes over FaceTime since I was too far. I know my GS was happy to be with my gf because he’ll always listen to her and for me was more of the good times the walks and the playing at the park we both split are caring and loving in different ways for him. I’m still accepting the loss day by day but I feel my goodbye wasn’t heard properly and i create scenarios in my head that drive me crazy.
Thanks for hearing me out it’s been a rollercoaster of a emotions for me and I’m still trying to find my
Comfort and peace.
