Successful pregnancy after miscarriage (looking for good news stories)

I had a complete and natural miscarriage at 6w 5d on 3rd August. This was confirmed at the hospital on the 6th August. I didn't need any medication or surgery. I have taken a pregnancy test today and its negative. I am not ready to try again just yet as I am in a dark place. I hope to try again in a couple of months.

I an 33yo and don't have any children. I will be 34 in January. I want to know if anyone has had a healthy pregnancy and birth following their first mc. I have seen many stories about recurrent mc's and this pushes me into a darker place. Any good news stories from those who tried again again within 3 ti 6 months?

Need to rant - NHS - EPAU. TW: Miscarriage

I apologise I am taking to this page to discuss the above matter, but I need to vent about the lack of support I have received from the health service in this country.

I will seek comfort from other pages/platforms, but for now, I am taking to this page to express anger at the state of the health system and what I have encountered on this journey. The overarching vision of the NHSCT is to provide compassionate care. My experience is on the contrary. From speaking with others, many have also said they experienced similar.

My Husband and I had been trying for a baby for the last year. In early July, much to my disbelief, I found out I was pregnant. We were over the moon. I rang my GP the following day as I am aware my friends had done the same over recent years. The GP called me back and almost seemed annoyed I was calling to tell her the news. She tells me that I refer myself to either Antrim or Altnagalvin online where I fill in a questionnaire. I apologised for wasting her time. She didn't acknowledge that. Later that evening, the GP practice posted an online poster on their Facebook with a QR code for ladies who have just discovered they are pregnant. This felt like it was directed at me with my earlier phonecall. Surely they should have advised their receptionist staff who are triaging patients, but sure no matter. That isn't really what I came to rant about.

Trigger warning.

2 weeks later, I experience some spotting. I contact the Early Pregnancy Unit at AAH where you leave your name, number and dob and they call you in 24hours. A young lady called me back promptly and scheduled the next available appointment for 3days later. I attended, I had an internal scan, everything looked good measuring 6 weeks with a heartbeat.

2 days later, my symptoms got progressively worse. I rang again on the Sunday afternoon. On the Monday it happened. I knew it. I still hadn't received a call from Sunday. At 10.09 I called again to leave a message. My Husband was for taking me to A&E. I got a call at 10.40am. The nurse asked me a series of questions. I explained what happened. Because I my symptoms weren't matching theirs TW (I wasn't in dire pain and I wasn't soaking a pad every hour) I was dismissed. I was told not to go to A&E as I wasn't displaying these symptoms. I was told there would be a long wait in A&E and there were no scanners available. I was told the earliest they could see me was Thursday morning. If anything changed, only then go to A&E. But nothing changed. The worst was over. It had already happened at the toilet that morning.

We attended the appointment on Thursday. We seen a different nurse than the week prior. She was cold from when she called my name. We didn't get a good vibe from her. Her questions, her attitude, her body language. During the scan, she told me 'I am so sorry, there is no pregnancy'. Afterwards, she answered all the questions I never asked telling me facts about it. She told me I was one of the 1 of the 4. She asked did I want a leaflet, I said yes. I left that hospital as another statistic with 2 leaflets about burials. She did not offer any aftercare, no medication, no water, no tissues, no pad. Nothing.

I am taking the time this week to grieve. To process my emotions ranging from grief to anger. I will search charities and support groups I can join with others in my situation. I wasn't signposted to any support groups, at the very least, that would have been something. I am sorry to rant on this page. But this seems to be the system expectant Mothers and Fathers are up against. No support. No care. No compassion. I will complain in time - god knows if they will read it or take it on board. I understand the system it on its knees and nurses are burnt out and perhaps even desensitised, but I am not a statistic. My Husband and I are people and we are grieving the loss of a life taken too soon.

Has anyone had bleeding like this with a viable pregnancy? Feeling really worried.

originally thought I was 7 weeks + 1 last Monday based on my dates, which is when I first started spotting. It was very light, faint blood at first. It seemed to happen after I'd had a poo, but it was definitely coming from my vagina, not from the bowel.

I was referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit and had an internal scan on Thursday. They told me everything was where it should be, they could see the gestational sac, yolk sac, baby, and a heartbeat, which was such a relief. They also didn't see a subchorionic haematoma.

However, the baby measured 6 weeks exactly on the scan, so because I have quite irregular periods, they've dated me at around 6 weeks + 3 now, rather than over 7 weeks as I originally thought.

Since the scan, particularly yesterday and today, the bleeding seems to have become a bit more noticeable. It's still nothing like a period. It mainly happens when I go to the toilet. When I wee and wipe, there's fresh red blood, and sometimes it goes into the toilet bowl. I'm wearing panty liners and there is some slight staining on them, but I'm not soaking them or anything, and I'm changing them regularly just to keep an eye on it.

I'm not having any cramps or pain at all, which I'm hoping is a good sign, but I'm finding the bleeding really worrying, especially after seeing a heartbeat.

One thing I'm also wondering is whether anyone has experienced bleeding around the time they would have been due a period. Is there any possibility that hormones or the timing of when my period would have been due could cause bleeding like this in early pregnancy?

Has anyone had bleeding like this around 6–7 weeks, where it was mostly noticeable when going to the toilet and everything turned out okay? Or did your EPU bring your follow-up scan forward because of ongoing bleeding?

I'm planning to call the EPU again because they told me to get back in touch if the bleeding got worse, but I'd really appreciate hearing other people's experiences while I'm waiting. ❤️

Spotting at 7 weeks

I am 7w and 1day with my first. Just needing a bit of advice as I am starting to panic.

On Saturday night, I noticed the tiniest little bit of brown on the toilet paper when I wiped. Last night I noticed a little bit of light pink spotting when I wiped. Today, I went 1 and 2. I noticed a little bit of pink again when I wiped. When I looked in the bowl, I seen a bit of blood dissolving. I am not sure if this is from number 2 or not. I wouldn't say I am constipated, but occasionally prior to pregnancy, I could have bleed from behind. However, nothing has ever dissolved in the toilet.

Panic stations have set in and I have been incredibly anxious all day. I haven't had many symptoms except for bloating, sore boobs and tiredness. So this incident today has me worried. I am in the UK and rang the early pregnancy unit for advice. They booked me in for an early reassurance test on Thursday.

Can I ask, how much spotting is enough to be worried, or is some light pink spotting normal?

Where do you keep your laundry basket

Have always had mine in the bedroom. Noticed a bit of a smell in the mornings. We open the windows throughout the day and have vents opened. No carpet in the room or wardrobes. Relocated to the bathroom today, but I am not sure it fits there well.

Curious to see where everyone keeps theirs.

Compensation for cancelled flight - Easyjet rejected due to name on account

Has anybody else had this issue with easyJet compensation/expenses claims and surname changes after marriage?

Last Friday I was due to fly from Belfast International Airport to London Luton Airport. Literally right before boarding, shortly after the gate was shown, I got a notification on my phone saying the flight had been cancelled.

We went to customer services because the next available flight showing on the app wasn’t until late afternoon the following day and we needed to get to our destination earlier. Customer services then booked us onto a 6am flight the next morning.

We had to make our own way to a hotel in Belfast that easyJet arranged, and customer services told us to keep all receipts and claim everything back afterwards. So I submitted claims for:

- taxis to/from the hotel

- breakfast at the airport

- compensation for the cancelled flight

The issue is that I flew under my maiden name, but my bank account is in my married name because I only recently got married.

I attached my marriage certificate as proof when submitting the claims, but the expenses claim was rejected saying it involved a third party. I then rang easyJet on 8 May and explained the whole situation. They assured me over the phone that my marriage certificate would be added to BOTH the expenses claim and compensation claim.

I get an email yesterday regarding my expenses, they requested my marriage certificate to be submitted within 5 days. I submitted both my marriage and birth certificate to cover everything.

This morning (Sunday) I received another email saying the compensation claim was rejected as well, despite being told on Friday that the documents were being submitted for both claims.

I rang again today and I’m pretty sure I spoke to the same lady. From the conversation, it honestly sounds like the evidence was never actually submitted on Friday. She kept saying it’s because it’s the weekend and couldn’t confirm whether the claim is currently open or closed.

At this point I genuinely don’t know:

- do I resubmit everything AGAIN?

- or do I escalate it to AviationADR now?

Has anyone else had this issue with maiden names/married names on claims? And if so, how did you get it resolved?
