What books have you read in August !? Which would you recommend and any you’d avoid?
From late July, I finished “ The book of Abramelin”, then read the “ Grimoire of St. Cyprian” and then re-read the Peterson “ lesser key of Solomon “.
For September, I’m going to start ok “ The Nag Hammadi scriptures “ (the complete one volume) and if I have time, make a start on “ Prometheus Rising”. I know it’s not inherently an occult book. But I’ve seen so many occultist mention it, and how it’s changed them. I thought I’d give it a go !

What books have you read in July ? What’s your current read ? Any of which you’ve read recently could you recommend ? And what’s your next read ?
For me personally I started out with the 4th Book of occult philosophy. Very interesting read, the renaissance English meant having to use my brain a bit more than normal when reading. But very interesting stuff.
Then I read; “ Consorting with spirits “ by Jason miller. Very good read, an interesting perspective of how Jason approaches working with spirits. Some of which he’s worked with for 30+ years! It doesn’t tell you how to perform a ritual as such (although there’s a lot of reference). But as the title says, it’s all about building a relationship with said spirits and talking to them.
My current book is “ The Book of Abramelin: A New Translation - Revised and Expanded”. What a marvellous Job they’ve done on translating and researching the book compared to the mathers book over 100 years ago. And the commentary is great also seeing the differences in the original manuscripts!
Hi, bare with me as I try to articulate my experience. Usually I’m pretty good at stringing a sentence together, however I’m in shock at the past 24 hours and just how flawlessly things have worked out.
To give some brief history, I’ve spent around nine years as an occult scholar. And I’ve made a few posts detailing of how I wanted to do my first ritual, well I finally did it.
I was all of sudden thrown into a rock bottom kind of ordeal. And without getting too into my personal affairs. I was told the wait for a house for myself and family would take a considerable amount of time, no less than six months infact (specific due to a child with medical issues). In the mean time myself and partner and kids got relocated in a temporary apartment, in an extremely rough neighbourhood.
Naturally the stress on a relationship, in such a high pressure situation, ultimately only wanting what’s best for your family made us bicker etc to say the least.
We took a two day breathing break. And I decided I’m going to invoke Satan. Feeling truly at rock bottom both emotionally but also from a lifestyle perspective. I conjured all my feelings, and cracked on with what I knew I needed to do.
My surroundings, noise , the world almost all just disappeared. I was met with piercing blue eyes (not too dissimilar to those found in series such as game of thrones - the ice king things). A surreal calmness. Other that that I don’t have any other details into appearance, at the time I know I seen a figure, that I was confused about. But post ritual I can not remember it at all, it’s like it’s blanked out of my brain other than the piercing blue eyes.
I asked Satan, to help me in my despair. To help find my self in my situation for my family, to be the best version of myself. I asked to bring me some luck to change my circumstances.
And shockingly within 24 hours, we were offered a big house, with a big garden that’s literally perfect.
Out of nowhere, a HUGE monetary financial injection as a bonus (?)
Coincidence a sceptic would say. However we rang the appropriate people in regards to the house and even our case handler doesn’t have a full explanation for it, he said “ In 22 years I haven’t seen something be done this quickly”
Ever since the ritual even before we found out about the house and monetary gain, I’ve had a huge shift in mental clarity and positivity.
I’m truly humbled and shocked, it feels literally like winning the lottery.

Does anyone own a copy !? The one that’s bound in black goat skin.
I saw one recently, and despite the 500 copies I’ve set alerts on every occult book website as they (apparently) come up very rarely.
Am I right in saying the reprint in 2004 also had a deluxe edition, bound in goat skin ?
Does anyone know of any rare occult book circles here on Reddit or discord etc ?
