Anyone here trained on both angled and vertical Smith machines? Which one felt better?

Random thing I somehow never paid attention to until recently lol. My old gym had a Smith that was basically vertical. The one I use now has a slight angle, and at first I just thought the machine felt...different. Took me a bit to realize the bar path itself wasn't the same. Squats are probably where I notice it most. Split squats too, maybe. Pressing? Honestly not much. Now I'm curious about people who've actually used both for a while. Which one do you prefer, angled or vertical? And what movement made you notice the difference first? Also curious if anyone hated one style at first and then ended up liking it once they got used to it.

What actually matters for a first setup vs what collects dust?

TLDR: A month of WFH from the couch has destroyed my back and I'm finally doing something about it. Need help cutting through the noise on what actually matters for a first setup.

Okay so my back has officially filed a formal complaint and I can no longer ignore it. One month of hunching over a laptop on the dining table and I look like a question mark. Fully deserved, I know. I've been down the research rabbit hole for about two weeks now and somehow I know less than when I started. Every thread leads to five more threads, every just get this recommendation has a reply saying actually don't get that. I'm genuinely worried I'm going to either buy a bunch of stuff I'll never use or cheap out on the one thing that actually matters. The gear graveyard fear is real, I don't want to spend money on things that end up shoved in a corner. Also, walking pads keep showing up everywhere I look. Curious if anyone actually uses one consistently

My office is also a guest room, so I tried not to let the desk take over

My home office also has to work as a guest room, which made planning the setup harder than I expected. I wanted enough desk space for two monitors and normal work stuff, but I did not want the entire room to feel like an office when someone stayed over. I ended up placing the desk against one wall, keeping most of the storage underneath it, and leaving the other side of the room fairly open. I am also trying to keep the desktop from becoming permanent storage because that makes the whole room feel smaller very quickly. It is not the perfect dedicated office setup, but it works without making the bed feel like it was added as an afterthought. Anyone else working from a guest room? What helped you make the space feel balanced?

Got the standing desk, looking for a walking pad.

Got a standing desk recently and its going great so far...Only I think im missing out on the real fun of the actual combo! A walkpad and the standing desk. Which walkpad are you guys using? Something that goes along with it. Particularly if you guys can recommend something for a beginner like me that would be helpful.

how long would i have to row to undo a happy meal with 6 nuggets?

Hypothetically. let's say a fully grown adult accidentally ordered a happy meal pure accident Let's also say that same adult added the 6 piece nuggets because it's basically extra protein. do the maths guys how long would that person have to row before they could emotionally recover from the fries, nuggets, and whatever questionable life choices led to this moment? bonus points if someone gives me the answer in 500 m splits instead of calories so I can plan on my rower.
