I’ve been thinking about this for a few weeks now – I am going to feel SO awful for the person that posts a fake announcement right before his actual death. I’d be absolutely mortified if it were me it would be SO awkward 😭
As a child, I vividly remember my granddad always listening to classical music – I kind of enjoyed it but I didn’t really understand it. I specifically remember he tried to introduce me by showing me Peter and the Wolf and I loved the storyline with the music!
I recently went to see an orchestra playing Romeo & Juliet by Prokofiev and it really opened my eyes. I actually understood what was happening and really enjoyed it! There was specifically a bit of back and forth between two instruments that I really enjoyed!
If anyone has any recommendations for music that follows a kind of storyline like that, I’d love to hear it! Thanks in advance :)

I’ve been so excited for this for AGES and want to ask the best question I possibly can. I’ve really struggled to pick one though!!

All through Secondary School (because I was in the UK) I was constantly abused for never having dated a girl while having been with a few guys. Not being funny but WHICH GIRLS do you expect me to date!!??? My best friends, the only other queers in the school?? I don’t think I’m gonna date my childhood best friends… literally EVERY day I’d get harassed for “queerbaiting” (can you tell I was in secondary school in 2021?). All because I’d never dated a girl. Genuinely the dating pool was me, myself, my two my best friends, and a girl already in a relationship!!!! RANT OVER but I just came to the realisation and had to let it out. Thought here some of you may relate to the harassment over never dating girls despite there not being any girls to date
Hi all!
I’m creating an inter-university network of independent student societies, kind of inspired by the 93% club!
It’s essentially designed to explain uni things for people who might not otherwise know what’s going on (this part is mostly targeted towards prospective students and first years).
We’d also want to branch out to do things like working with local businesses, charities and alumni to really support students
E.g. mock job interviews, internship support, a free academic dress scheme, free headshots, scholarship sourcing support
Anything students want support with, we can try to give them!
Support for independent students can be difficult to find at best
We want to support students with no university support circle through every step of uni, from application to graduation
Hopefully, as the network grows we can continue to support younger people coming to university with society alumni!
So far, Durham and York are 100% going to be involved! Cambridge, Newcastle, and Lincoln are currently organising things, but should be joining us shortly!

We’re also specifically looking for postgraduate students who would be willing to help undergraduate students with moving on to postgraduate :)
