I’m J, and I’m at a point in my life where I’m ok with how things are going, but I wanna make it a little bit more amazing by meeting someone I would probably spend the rest of it with as a partner.

A little about me, I’ve got one black cat, I work on old cars and trucks and custom-made vehicles, I sometimes do research journaling, a touch of crude art, and a smidge of photography. I also have 5 different Spotify playlists I listen to depending on how I’m feeling, and I’m always down to trade songs, especially if you’ve got one I probably don’t have on any of them.

Other times, you’ll probably find me just strolling around places like downtown going thrifting, junkyard shopping, or just hitting up the local 7/11 for some snacks, or running around in a lawnmower that has a motorcycle engine strapped to it. I’m 5”10, with an average-or-so skinny build with semi-powerlifter legs. I’m planning to hit up the gym at one point or another during this summer, so bonus points if you’re also looking for a gym partner.

I’m looking for someone who’s also got a great sense of humor, isn’t afraid to help me do the occasional science experiment of putting a Chevy V8 into a mini truck for shiggles and giggles, knows how to have fun, and is as loyal and willing to put as much effort into this as I am.

21m here, in Lone Tree, born in Colorado. Honestly, I might just give up and go back to working on project cars.

For the last 4 years, I was trying to break that one 7-year streak of loneliness for the life of me as someone who grew up having no friends and was an involuntary social outcast. Had every dating app under the sun, like Hinge, Bumble, Tinder, etc. I never got matched once. Maybe the occasional scam bot, but that was really it. Tried getting professional photos, better bios, better everything, still a no-bueno, so I never really got to go on any dates. At one point or another, you probably would have even seen me just chilling on the RTD train trying to make new friends too, only for that to not really go anywhere, for lack of better ideas.

Last night, I was talking to someone who had a similar issue, and a matchmaker was mentioned, specifically one called “Tawkify”, and when I did some googling about it, apparently people actually spend $3k upfront just to get started, which seems like a crazy amount of money for some dating service. Have any of you tried it/similar versions before? Is it worth the investment? I feel like using a matchmaker would be indicative of just an utter failure to do what should be probably the simplest of things without any help, but I literally don’t know what else to do, so I’m hoping I’m wrong.

Gonna delete this post in 12 hours, since I tried posting this on a throwaway account but for some odd reason it keeps getting automatically deleted. And I’m fully expecting to be downvoted for this, so I’m really sorry for asking, especially if I sound idiotic in any of this.

I started on the 10th, we were told that we’d get paid this Friday, along with every Friday afterwards, and we had to update our payroll information during the first day of orientation and whatnot (I did it prior as soon as I got the email prompt to do so two days beforehand) however my paycheck never came. Currently at SC02 in grocery, so what the heck?

Checked AtoZ app, no paystubs could be found for it, I’ve been trying to reach HR with no response or just me being put on hold all day yesterday since the early morning (historically Wells Fargo has always sent my paychecks in early) and today, I’m about to throw the towel in and ragequit.

I bought a motorcycle. Prior to that, I bought a Ford OBS. Two times, these vehicles both ended up having serious issues despite the sellers telling me it runs, drives, blah blah blah. The motorcycle ended up having shifting issues whilst I was trying to learn how to drive it around. The Ford OBS fuel pump, head gaskets, and timing chain went out after driving it for two weeks. It didn’t help the seller promised to deliver me the title but never did. Naturally, I couldn’t afford to fix either, and any other trucks or motorcycles were overpriced, and to make matters more hilarious, I had already gotten halfway through my primary project, a 1967 Ford Mustang, and am now ready to work on the engine and transmission, whereas these two were SUPPOSED to be my daily commuters whilst I was working on it, but it seems like I’d have it ready way faster before I figured out what the heck to do about either of those.

So how come all the good stuff gets essentially gate-kept, and the rest are deceptively bad? Am I just in the world’s unluckiest region to have Facebook Marketplace? I’m so frustrated.

I used to work at DEN5 during the summer of 2023 as a seasonal. I left because of low motivation, no access to music or other ways to make the time go by faster, reduced break times in a 8 hour shift, and it didn’t pay great. Not to mention I had issues with the zappo shoes quite literally tearing themselves apart and skinning the back of my heels, and went on with about two different pairs with the same problem, until I got steel toed boots from Walmart that resolved that issue.

Jump to today, I heard VC02 by the Centennial Airport was opening up spots, and from what my buddy told me, who worked as a T2 there 3 years ago, it was supposed to be way better than before, with those previous issues also having been resolved, and paid better. and I even have a whole start date, part time schedule, went through the rehire process. But then I heard some rumors as to what changed between then and now, such as steel toe boots not being allowed, no phones permitted, and definitely no ear buds, having some sort of rate count or else one would be suspended, and now there’s something about having security access your phone’s data and doing random security checks TSA style??

So my question is, could anybody clarify on these and is it truly worth coming back to working for this company, assuming anything’s improved since then? If y’all have worked in VC02, what’s it like there? I would really appreciate any feedback, because I’ve already come all this way, but if it’s gonna wind up being something that’s obviously not gonna work out for me, I really have got to know.
