I Was Told This Was a Good Idea

I’m looking for a girlfriend, which is already embarrassing enough, so let’s not make this worse by pretending I’m going to write some impressive paragraph about how I’m “passionate about life.”

I’m 20, I live in Cairo, I study data science, and I spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about things that probably did not require that much thought.

I like music, movies, TV, wandering around, learning random things, and people who have their own personalities instead of a carefully assembled list of traits from a dating app.

I’m probably more comfortable talking about the meaning of life than taking a normal photo in public. So that's going well.

I’m agnostic, mostly because whenever someone sounds extremely certain about the universe I immediately become suspicious. Not looking for someone who spends all day being angry at religion.

I like women who are funny, curious, kind, opinionated, and capable of disagreeing.  I'm especially drawn to people who are curious, have their own opinions, and can still say "actually, you might be right" (which will be most of the time) without treating it like a personal defeat. You don't have to be an intellectual or have your entire life figured out. Please actually have a life, though. That seems reasonable.

I want someone I can laugh with, talk to for hours, make terrible decisions with, and eventually look at and think, “Wow. Somehow this became a relationship.”

I have no idea whether this post is going to work.

But apparently this is how we meet people now, so here we are.

Does god believe in us?

Considering that the universe is uncertain by definition, it also means that we, as humans, can’t really be certain about whether there is some higher certainty behind it all. So, from a pragmatic perspective, maybe the safest approach would be to believe, at least out of fear, because what if all those seemingly illogical stories about heaven, hell, higher entities, and God actually turn out to be true?

But honestly, I think I’m closer to not believing. And if I were to believe in a god, I’d probably believe in one who doesn’t care about what we do with our lives, or whether we believe in him/her or not.

At that point, the question shifts: does God believe in us?

I don’t know. Maybe we’ve already created our own gods, or Allah, or whatever you want to call him/her.

What's your perspective?

20 [M4F] | #Egypt, Cairo | Looking for someone curious, authentic, stupid, and funny

I am looking for a partner. I am not the "cool" guy. I am just looking for someone funny and artistic all the next details are not important or optional

I’m pragmatic, agnostic, considerate, and I care more about being real than trying to look a certain way. I used to spend a lot of time reading about secular spirituality, but these days I am more focused on my career, studying data science, and planning for a master’s degree and travel after graduation. If everything goes according to plan, I'm aiming for the UK, Germany, or the Netherlands.

I think we could have great conversations about dreams, whether that means future plans or actual dreams while sleeping. I am interested in both.

I am looking for someone who shares some of these traits which I "think" I have them:
authentic and true to herself, self conscious enough to get their bias and insecurity and always curious to understand yourself more. open to other cultures while still staying true to her own, loves music across different genres, enjoys cinema and TV, naturally intellectual (I am not the smartest one but you just feel it, if you know, you know), ambitious, and values art and emotional intelligence.

I am not looking for someone who is angry on religion. I consider myself agnostic and approach life from a pragmatic, humanistic perspective. I value curiosity over certainty and believe that accepting the limits of our knowledge is more meaningful than claiming absolute answers either sides. While I don't believe in religious doctrines or supernatural claims, I only believe in myself, my life, my experience, which i try to optimize it. I deeply respect the cultural, philosophical, and psychological role religion has played throughout human history. I appreciate traditions, awe, and what many describe as spiritual experiences without feeling the need to explain them through faith. I see morality as something built through empathy, reason, and personal responsibility rather than divine authority. I am not a good or bad person and i do not believe in labeling, i just try to do myself. I reject both dogmatism and nihilism, believing that life is rarely black and white, that people are full of contradictions, and that meaning is something we consciously create through our relationships, growth, and contributions to others.

Someone who can talk about almost anything, from politics to art, and has something to say about most topics. Open-minded, but still respectful of tradition without being trapped by it. Opinionated, with her own perspective, but willing to change her mind when something makes more sense.

Someone who understands that people are complicated, works on herself without hypocrisy, and is mature enough to listen, understand, speak thoughtfully, and act with intention. Someone who does not try to be different for the sake of it, but is different in her own way. Someone looks normal form the outside and don't mind showing and proving anything to anyone while live their own lives.

I value empathy, honesty, and emotional intelligence. I respect people who know when to invest in others and when to step back. Having passion matters too, even if it is not fully defined yet.

I believe life is rarely black and white. Directness, honesty, kindness, and a realistic mindset go a long way.

I want a partner we can grow together achieve together and build together.
