What Walkman should I get?

So I wanna buy a DAP that's got:

decent build quality.

decent battery life.

supports FLAC.

A battery that doesn't expand and bloat like Hiby and Fiio

Has expandable storage (micro sd storage)

And isn't app heavy

And will last me a couple of years at least..

Sony seems to be decent quality, but i have no idea what walkman to buy and what would suit my basic DAP needs..

Is this fixable?

Hiby R1 user here:

I've noticed a few mp3 files I've downloaded from YouTube don't play and say (Playback error-12), as seen in the picture.

Is this a fixable issue?

Is the Hiby R1 actually good?

This is a question for long term R1 owners here:

So i recently ordered the Hiby R1, but since then I've seen some very confusing posts.

A lot of people say it's a great budget DAP and it's amazing in most aspects, whilst places like Amazon say it's a frequently returned item. And I've also noticed more and more that the R1 has a battery pillowing issue and it expands.

So im really conflicted, i came from using the Innioasis y2, and more than anything I just want a DAP that will last me a year at least.

I use primarily high quality MP3 files and some FLACs from ripping CDs. So my music library is just above 1000 songs on a Sandisk 256gb micro SD.

I did make the right choice? Or should I return it for a better DAP?

Is there any updates/developments for Rockbox for the y2?

Does anyone know if there has been any developments or updates on when or if the Y2 is getting Rockbox support?

I've just ordered a 1TB SD Card to expand my library!

I've further updated my Y2!

I've not only added my previous 527 mp3 tracks from my hard drive, but I've also bought a CD drive and started ripping CDs too!

My collection will probably continue into the thousands haha.

I found my dad's old rock CD from 1995, he passed away back in 2009 so it felt right to rip that CD and put it on my mp3 player too 😇

Im loving owning my own music right now, wayyyyy better than Spotify imo :)

The y2 has arrived! But when can we expect a y2 format for Rockbox?

My y2 has arrived finally!

After seeing that the y2 doesn't have Rockbox support yet, when can we expect rockbox to make a version for the y2?

Can't we just use the y1 format for the y2 for now?

Just ordered mine! 😁

I've just ordered my Innioasis Y2 from Amazon! Im from the UK and I've been waiting ages for it to come onto Amazon UK stores!

No reviews for it yet, but there is only 1 left in stock atm, there was 5 left in stock when I ordered it this afternoon so they're selling FAST!

How do I install Rockbox on the Hifi Walker H2?

I checked the Rockbox website but im so confused! 😵

- It's a new H2 so it doesn't have anything pre-installed

- I have my micro sd card with all of my music In my drawer ready to go.

Can anyone make a simplified guide that doesn't give me a headache pls 🙂‍↕️ what's the best method?

Im new to Rockbox so i have no idea what im doing 😅

What are people's opinion/Review on the H2? Is it worth it for basic MP3 music needs + Rockbox customisation?

So I bought the HIFI Walker H2 off AliExpress. What are everyone's experiences and opinions on the device?

Does it run well with Rockbox customisation, and how's everyone's listening experience with basic 320 kbps MP3 downloads?

What was everyone's experience with replacing the SD card in the Y1?

My Innioasis Y1 is arriving today and I'm excited as hell, but my main concern/worry is replacing the SD card because I'm scared I'll break it in the process.

I've seen websites explaining the tutorial process and even showing pictures of the step-by-step process.

My main worries are:

  1. Not being able to put the shell/cover back on after I replace the SD card.

  1. When undoing the screws and gently lifting the board to get the SD card slot, it'll break and won't work.

  1. When I have to remove the tape inside it go get to the SD slot and I worry it won't stick again properly when I've finished.

  1. I purchased a Sandisk Extreme 128 GB SD card, will that work with the Y1?

  1. (Non-SD card question) Does Rockbox work with the Y1?

Can I go to a phone repair shop and get someone else to replace the SD card?

I've just purchased a Y1 from their website, but I've seen people advise replacing the default SD card with a higher-quality one to avoid the device failing, etc.

I'm very clumsy, though, and I don't think I'll be able to do the replacement myself without messing something up. Can I go to a phone repair place or somewhere like that to have the SD card replaced by a professional?

(I live in the UK by the way) 😁
