Looking for Affordable Guitar Lessons in Phoenix

Hi everyone! I'm 25 and looking for affordable guitar lessons. I've checked out a few music schools, and while the teachers were great, most seemed to have more experience teaching kids than adults.

I've considered Guitar Center too, but I've heard mixed reviews. I'm a complete beginner with an electric guitar and would love to learn.

If anyone has recommendations for schools or private instructors who teach adults, please let me know. Thanks!

25M Arizona - Looking for a genuine friend

Hi, 25M from Arizona. Kinda embarrassing to post here, but I've spent so much time focused on my career and school that I've pushed my social life aside. Recently I've realized I'm pretty lonely and don't really have anyone to share life with.

I'm into tech, engineering and building random things, gaming, anime, traveling, and trying new things. I'm pretty outgoing, joke around a lot, and love dark humor and memes. I've always been able to mingle with pretty much everyone, and I've had people tell me I bring a lot of happiness and energy into their lives. I have work friends and people I get along with, but somehow I haven't found someone I genuinely click with and can call a true friend.

I'm not looking for someone just to play one specific game with. I'd like someone I can talk to regularly, share life and adventures, game sometimes, joke around with, and just genuinely get to know.

I also love traveling and have Japan coming up soon, then hopefully Seattle for snowboarding after that. Maybe you're a little lost in life like me and looking for the same thing. You can be from anywhere. I'm really just hoping to find someone I click with and build an actual friendship. I won't put too much hope into this post, but why not lol.

Looking for some actual gaming friends / a small friend group

Hey guys! I'm 25M from Arizona and looking for some chill people to game with and hopefully build an actual little friend group.

I'm into RPGs, FPS, horror, survival, and adventure games. Lately I've been playing modded Minecraft, but I'm also into Phasmophobia, DEVOUR, No More Room in Hell, random horror games, and even Roblox horror sometimes. I'm pretty open when it comes to games though, so if something looks fun I'm usually down to try it.

I'm pretty outgoing and joke around a lot. I'm not really into genuinely toxic or aggressive people though. We can aggressively fight zombies together, just not each other.

I also work in tech, so meeting other tech/gamer people would be cool, but definitely not a requirement. We can complain about broken code and getting humbled by computers together.

More than anything, I'm looking for people who actually want to hang out. Hop in Discord, play random games, talk about whatever, laugh at dumb stuff, and hopefully become actual friends instead of just adding each other and never talking again.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, send me a message!

Looking for friends for a new modded Minecraft server! 18+

Hey guys! My name's Astrid, I'm 25M, Timezone MST. I'm looking to start up a modded Minecraft server and find some new people to play with!

I already have the server ready. I'm mainly just looking for friends and figuring out what modpack we all want to play. I was thinking ATM10, but I'm completely open to recommendations. I'm mostly looking for something with RPG elements, magic, exploration, progression, and big complicated boss fights. I don't mind tech/Create stuff either, I just don't want the whole game to feel like I'm working a factory job.

I'm pretty outgoing and care a lot about the people I play with, so I'm hoping to make a chill little group where everyone actually gets along and has fun. If you're super toxic or aggressive, this probably isn't the group for you.

Unless we're aggressively fighting a zombie together. Then it's acceptable.

If you're interested, comment below or DM me! We also have a Discord ready.

Help Desk → Cloud/Infrastructure/SWE: How should I position myself for my next role?

Hey everyone! Looking for some career advice from people who have been in tech/IT for a while.

I’m currently a Help Desk Technician and have been in the role for about a month. I’m definitely not trying to quit immediately, but I want to start positioning myself now so that once I’ve gotten some solid experience here, I can move into something more advanced.

My long-term interests are Cloud, Infrastructure, or Software Engineering, and I’m trying to figure out what I should be doing while I’m in Help Desk to make that next jump easier.

A little about me:

  • BAS in Information Technology
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s in Software Engineering – DevOps
  • Currently studying for the CCNA
  • AWS and GCP certifications
  • 2 previous internships: Software Engineering and Marketing Engineering
  • Built and currently run a small startup/app with 250+ users that generates close to $100/month
  • Currently working full-time Help Desk

I know someone is probably going to ask why I didn’t just pursue SWE after my internship. Basically, it’s 2026 and the SWE market is insanely competitive lol. I spent around 8 months unemployed, applied to literally thousands of positions, and only landed one SWE interview. Meanwhile, when I started applying to IT/support/infrastructure-related positions, I was getting significantly more interviews and eventually landed my current Help Desk position.

So I took the opportunity instead of continuing to sit unemployed.

The Help Desk work itself has actually been easy and pretty fun so far, and I’ve already done a lot of this type of work before. I just don’t want to get comfortable and realize 2–3 years from now that I haven’t built the skills needed to move up.

If you were in my position, what would you focus on over the next 6–12 months?

What roles would you target after Help Desk? Sysadmin? NOC? Network Support? Cloud Support? Infrastructure Support?

And besides the CCNA, what skills/projects would give me the best shot at eventually moving toward Cloud/Infrastructure/SWE?

BAS in IT, SWE Internship, Saas project, but struggling to land SWE role.. Should I pivot to IT Support?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to get some advice on my career path.

I graduated with a BAS in Information Technology last year. Shortly after graduating, I landed a Software Engineering internship at a Fortune 500 company. Unfortunately there was no return offer, but I learned a lot about backend development, APIs, Agile development, and working on a real engineering team.

After that, I took a Marketing Technology role because I wasn't able to land a full-time SWE position. The role ended up being a hybrid of marketing, IT support, and development. I worked with Microsoft 365, PC setup and troubleshooting, basic networking, Salesforce, frontend development, and various internal systems.

Since then I've continued studying software engineering, data structures, system design, and LeetCode. I also launched my own SaaS project, which has grown to over 100 users and generated about $125 in subscription revenue last month. Not life-changing money, but it's been a great learning experience.

My problem is that the SWE market has been extremely difficult. I've applied to roughly 125 software engineering positions and have only received one assessment so far.

Because I need a job soon, I'm considering applying heavily to IT Support / Help Desk / DCO roles while continuing to pursue software engineering opportunities. My thought process is that IT Support would at least get me into a technical role, provide income, and potentially make it easier to transition into SWE later.

For those who have worked in either field:

  • Is IT Support → SWE a realistic transition today?
  • Has anyone here successfully made that jump?
  • If you were in my position, would you continue focusing exclusively on SWE applications, or pursue IT Support while continuing to apply for SWE roles?

I know my background looks a bit all over the place, and that's one of my concerns. My goal has always been software engineering, but with the current market I'm trying to be realistic while still moving forward.

One thing I'll admit is that I was late to the party compared to many CS students. I worked full-time while attending school full-time, so I didn't have multiple internships or a huge portfolio of projects coming out of college.

I'd appreciate any honest feedback.
