Chunk has been looking particularly chunky recently
Last photo might be able to show her size. She's on the left (duh), Pants is in the middle (Pants is a damn small cow though), and a more normal sized cow (who is a year older than Chunk) is to the right.
[OC] Mel surprised me by giving birth to a beautiful baby girl a few days ago! They're both doing well.
Mel gave birth to this heifer calf a few days ago! Both are doing well. I think I'll name the baby Ellie.
I'll name any of Mel's calves names with an "el" in them. Mel's daughter last year got the name Shelby. If she has a bull calf in future he's getting the name Melvin.
You can see that her eyes are a bit of a light colour, similar to Mel's. That's unusual, cattle generally have eyes that are super dark unless you look up close. I don't think they'll stay that colour as she grows, but we'll see.
Daffodil today. She's after growing a lot the past few months.
Two random things:
1 - Her nose is shaped a bit funny. It's like her nostrils are a bit bigger in proportion to the nose than they are in other cattle.
2 - She has a small white line in her eye ever since she got pinkeye last year. Visible in last photo. That's a bit unusual, usually if cattle keep a mark from that it's a small circle.
[OC] Giving Wispa some scratches while she's eating her lunch
[OC] Waffles always walks over for a scratch when she sees me!
[OC] Some photos I've taken while relaxing with cows. When they trust you, they can be so gentle.
Three new babies we've had recently 💕
Not really sure who their moms are or if they're bulls/heifers (well the last one is a heifer). I know which cows have calved but they're all heifers so they seem kind of clueless about which calf is who's as well. They're all doing fine anyway so that's all that matters :P
