Hi everyone,

I have a 2024 P2 and wanted to check with the community whether the parking button (P) on the centre console is backlit when parking brake is engaged?

I maybe be imagining things here, but i have a memory of the parking button being backlit when the button is depressed and parking brake is engaged? I know the P comes on in the drivers display when parking brake is engaged, but what about the button itself?

Bit of background, recently I had to get a scratch on the door repaired, which took about a month at the garage rexommended by my insurer. When i got the car back, that's when I noticed that the parking button wasn't lighting up. Does it never light up on P2? Am I imagining it that it did?

Someone scratched my car door today in a supermarket car park while I was sitting inside the car. The other driver initially denied it but later accepted responsibility, and I have:

photos/videos of the damage, a video showing his door lining up exactly with the scratch, WhatsApp messages.

The damage is mainly paint scratched off/chipped on the side of the door.

The other driver has now suggested using a mobile repair company called AutoCorrect that would come to my house and repair it, presumably cheaper than the approved body shop.

I’m trying to decide what the best option is:

-Let his recommended repair company fix it privately

-Go through my own insurance and let them recover costs from his insurer

My insurance excess is roughly the same as the repair cost, but I do have protected no claims and motor legal protection.

Main things I’m concerned about:

-quality of repair / paint match,

-whether a mobile repair is as good as a proper body shop and whether going through insurance is more hassle long term even if they recover costs.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What would you do?
