I created a miniaturized pegged version of the Anri "Modern Staunton", with accompanying board.

The above set is a miniaturized version of Anri's "Modern Staunton", produced for a few short years in the mid 1960's. The original set is quite rare and sought after. I loved the design, but felt it was better suited to a travel set (the original king height is 6.5cm).

For months, I've been working to make a 3D printer-viable traditionally pegged chess set. After much tinkering, I think I have a working system. (I also made a non-pegged version).

I'd love to have others print this set so I can have the peg system tested on other machines.

What are the common techniques for creating subdial concentric rings?

Are they made with a specialized combed lathe cutting tool?

Rx Coupons/Discount Cards. How to know when to double bill insurance vs. when to apply alone?

Is there an easy way to tell if a discount card/coupon should be double billed with insurance vs. applied alone?

I'm printing very small pegs for the bottoms of 3D printed game board pieces and the best and most reliable method I've found is just a simple friction fit dowel. This works well enough, but as the plastic continues to stay compressed, I assume the connection will weaken. Also, it requires precise, consistent tolerances that not all printer can manage.

I've thought about a lot of other options... snap fits, etc. But they just don't work well, as far as I can tell, at this small scale.

Does anyone have suggestions for improvement? The only requirement is it has to fit a similar footprint to the dowel photographed.
