Anyone else kinda miss the Australian Super League?

Ok hear me out but I lowkey kinda miss the Super League and I feel so nostalgic about it. Things really were so much different back then and it was really cool.

The fact that we got to see two pro Australian rugby league competitions play alongside each other 1997 was incredible. Not only that but the constant drama and disputes between the competitions made things interesting. Nowadays it seems too sanitised now.

This leads to the crazy idea of mine - we need to bring back the Super League. Think about the enormous potential it would bring. Here are my reasons:

  1. The NRL is too dominant of an organisation and yields too much power over rugby league. The clubs and players don’t have any alternatives if they disagree with administration. A second comp keeps the NRL in check.
  2. Super League could more aggressively expand instead of NRL. The NRL is arguably expanding too quickly.
  3. A rugby league Super Bowl. Premiers of the NRL and Super League could face off to become the premiers of Australian rugby league.
  4. More rugby league for fans.

Study Physics degree part time?

Hi I have 1 year left on my double degree in Australia and was wondering if I could also pick up a Physics degree after I graduate from my other degrees.

I did Maths Methods in high school (2nd highest level in Australia) but never specialist (highest level maths), though I have always been an above average to strong maths student. I’ve always been interested in the idea of physics and since my double degree is humanities (commerce and psychology) I’ve always wanted to do a science degree.

Number one, I want to challenge myself and I enjoy going to university. Two, I have seen online people like to hire physics graduates in numerous different job roles because they see physics graduates as good problem solvers and critical thinkers.

Money or student loan debt isn’t an issue for me.

I was thinking I could do a maths bridging course (short course) as a refresher and then go into part time study so would take me around 6 years to do, but could go full time later.

I guess I was wondering whether doing part time study in a “hard” degree is smart, because it allows me to learn the content at my own pace and not feel under pressure. Also just want to know your thoughts about a physics degree because it interests me.

Who is this?

I have no idea who this NPC is. I was wandering around the Crimson while it was raining at night and I saw this flash and this guy called Thunderstorm Thompson appeared. It may have caused a raincoat zombie to turn into a person but I’m not sure.

I teleported home, he has not moved into my town and I haven’t seen him since.

I do have lots of mods installed but could not find any mention of a Thunderstorm Thompson anywhere.

Working at 2 different stores as a casual

So I’m in a really weird situation I think and just want to hear your thoughts.

So I have my main store that I’ve been working at for 5 years and there is another store I worked on and off at for 3 years. But I’ve been getting more shifts at the second store - I used to only get called in by the grocery manager (who used to work at my main store).

But now I’m kinda friends with the new service manager at the second store and she’s been getting consistently rostering me into tickets and service every week. The manager at my second store admitted to me once she tries to rosters me before my primary store gets the chance.

I usually average 1-2 at my main and 3-4 shifts per wk at my second store. I always work more at the second one. This wk I have 25 hrs at my second store and none at my main.

Was just wondering if it’s risky having this kind of arrangement. I’m worried my service manager at my main store will stop giving me hours. She told me she can’t stop me from getting hours at other stores.

I really love my main store because all my friends work there and it has an online dep where I get all the hours whereas my second store doesn’t have an online dep. I just like getting hours wherever as a casual.

I’ve told both stores I can’t commit to a full transfer to the second store and I’m happy to continue getting rostered to both stores.

Why does Brendan Piakura always come off for HIA?

As a Broncos fan who watches all their games it seems like nearly every game Piakura always has to come off the field for a HIA. And in 2022, I believe he had multiple concussions that limited his ability to play that year.

Of course, lots of HIA incidents are accidental, but I can’t help but think Piakura’s constant HIA’s are as a result of his carelessness. They seem to mostly happen when he’s trying to tackle a player so it’s got to be some fault with his defensive technique.

Wondering what you guys think? There’s no way most of his HIAs are accidental.

Unpopular: Ian is not that bad of a friend in Obsession

Of course, we can all agree that Bear is a terrible person who takes advantage of Nikki, however I keep seeing people online calling Ian and Sarah bad friends too. I don’t think either of them are that bad.

Ian tries to support Bear most of the time and he is mostly supportive of Nikki. In the scene where he takes a lift from Bear, he is concerned about the whole situation saying “You come to me saying Nikki’s having some kind of crazy fucking mental breakdown or something and that she needs to get help. And now you’re acting like oh no no no, we’re in love she’s fucking fine”. Then points out possessed Nikki lying about her dad. He also rightfully accuses Bear of taking advantage of Nikki who is going through something. He genuinely cares about both of them.

Ian also went out of his way to find out the truth about Nikki’s dad such as going through health records and calling the hospital.

When Nikki goes to the party and injures her face, Ian was the first to act immediately trying to get an ambulance called (you can hear in the background) and even though an ambulance wasn’t called, Ian drives to the hospital with Bear and Nikki anyway.

One thing I noticed is whenever Bear talks to Ian about any issues, Ian’s first thing is to always ask if Nikki is ok. In the scene where bear races to Ian’s house for Ian to make a wish, Ian repeatedly asks if Nikki is ok along with saying he has been texting Sarah and Bear numerous times. Again more proof that he cares about Nikki and that the first thing on his mind is always Nikki’s safety and wellbeing.

With that being said, Ian of course isn’t perfect. Clearly he gives Bear bad advice about Nikki which is a shitty thing to do. But then it’s partially Bear’s fault for being so naive by 1) thinking it was good advice (seriously, calling Nikki by a nickname she hated?) and 2) thinking he had a good chance with Nikki.

Then there’s the billion dollar wish he made instead of reversing Bear’s wish. But I think it’s unfair to judge Ian for making that wish when:

- at this point he had almost no idea what was actually happening. He doesn’t have the same information or knowledge the audience has. He doesn’t know about one wish willows.
-it happened during a very emotional and verbal argument (Bear is covered in blood and yelling while Ian is probably sick of this nonsense, is confused and irritated)
-and let’s be honest, who would believe in the one wish willow?

Those are my reasons for why I think Ian is a good friend and he is unfairly overhated. He acts immature and selfish sometimes, but overall he is a good friend who genuinely cares about Nikki and Bear.
