Avulsion?

Hi, so I’m almost one year postpartum and had been diagnosed with stage 2 cystocele, rectocele, and uterine prolapse, but it feels like it’s getting worse and I’m stage 3 (everything is coming out the opening). Today when I was sitting rocking my son to sleep, I feel this unbearable pressure sensation like there’s a fist pushing downwards on my pelvic floor. I went to take my pessary out and there was a hard ball - either my uterine prolapse or my cystocele or both pushing hard on my fingers and it ended up coming out the opening. When I looked, all three prolapses were out.

When I’ve asked the doctors and pelvic floor PTs I’ve seen about the possibility of me having an avulsion, they all say they aren’t able to tell. When I’ve asked my current doctor about it, she says there’s no point in doing imaging to see because treatment would be the same. Is there any difference in prognosis/treatment if there is an avulsion? I feel like I’ve read that surgery failure is more common with avulsion. Something just seems really wrong because no matter how much PFPT work I do or what pessaries I wear, I’m getting worse.

For those of you who have avulsions, how were you diagnosed? Did it change your treatment?

Get Mom Strong

Has anyone tried this program? I saw someone mention it in the Facebook prolapse forum. It looks like there’s a core/pelvic floor program, as well as a pelvic floor release module. I’m considering trying it out! For some background I’m 11 months postpartum with a grade 2 cystocele, rectocele, and uterine prolapse.

At Home Stim Devices

Hello everyone! Does anyone have any experiences with purchasing a stim device to have at home? Maybe elitone or something else? How did it work for you? Thank you!

Edit: I also see that if you lost sensation in your pelvic floor that elitone is contraindicated?

Perifit

So I’ve been having a rough ride with my prolapse since I gave birth last August and really struggled with kegels. I was told I needed to do them by every provider I saw and it was very frustrating because I felt I had such little control over those muscles and sometimes struggled to access them at all. The PFPT I started going to recently really stressed that I need to find a way to do consistent kegels everyday and recommended I get the Perifit. I got it because at this point I’ll try anything. I’ve only had it less than a week, so I can’t say what results I’ll have from it, but I just wanted to say that it is so fun. It’s literally video games you play with your pelvic floor lol. I don’t dread kegels anymore and I have fun doing it. I bought the Perifit+ and have been enjoying it, but my friend just told me she could get the regular Perifit for free on Hinge Health? I feel like so much of having prolapse is so upsetting and the treatment can be so frustrating, so I just wanted to share this in case it helps someone else.

Rotating Convertible Car Seat for Honda Civic

Hi! We have a CYBEX Callisto in my Mazda CX-5, but it’s a tight fit. My husband has an even smaller car - a Honda Civic. We’re looking for a rotating convertible car seat that will fit nicely in his car on the driver side. Does anyone have a car seat like this in a Honda Civic or similarly sized car that they are happy with? Thank you!!

Exterior Support Garment

Hello everyone! I have a stage 2 cystocele, rectocele, and uterine prolapse, am currently in PFPT, am wearing a size 7 dish pessary, and the pelvic pressure sensation is absolutely unbearable. I want to crawl out of my body when I feel it. My PFPT recommended an exterior garment/underwear/band for some relief. I’ve been having trouble finding one since the reviews on Amazon for the ones I’ve seen aren’t glowing. She mentioned the “My Pelvic Bra”, but I think she said she hasn’t had someone use that specific one yet. There’s also two different types of just the “My Pelvic Bra” product and I’m overwhelmed lol. Does anyone have any experience with “My Pelvic Bra” or any of the prolapse support garments on Amazon? Have you had success with any of them? Thank you!

Cardio with Prolapse

Hey everyone! I’ve been doing reformer Pilates 3-5x/week for 6 months and haven’t really lost any weight (super frustrating), so I’ve been looking to add some form of cardio for fat loss. I haven’t done any cardio since my delivery/prolapse, and admittedly never really regularly before this either. What are we doing that will not aggravate the prolapse or make it worse? My husband wants to get a rowing machine, but I know nothing about that. Is that safe to do? Do you have any recommendations? What has worked for you? Thank you!!!

Graduating to 360/Pull Up Diaper from Pampers Amore

Hello, everyone! I am official losing control of the diaper change situation with my 10 month old. We are at an all time high with the alligator rolling and crying tantrums the second I put him down for a diaper change. He wants to be on his hands and knees and crawling away from me from the start. I have the snoofy bee which helps me clean him up when he’s poopy, but the rolling and crawling away is getting worse. I think it would be helpful to change him into a diaper I can slip on since he never lets me tape him in without a big struggle.

We’re currently in size 3 pampers amore diapers and we’re really happy with the absorbency/protection and feel/softness. What would be a 360 or pull up diaper to move on to from this that would have a similar absorbency and feel? Thank you!

Carrying Bag for Upseat

Hi! We just got the Upseat for when we are away from home and had a fantastic experience using it in a restaurant today. I’d love to keep it in my car for when we need it. Does anyone have a zipper bag it fits in nicely that they recommend? A lot of the bags I’m seeing on Amazon are huge and for car seats. I just want to protect it/keep it clean in the car. Thank you!

Slide Playset

Hi! My son is 9 months old, has a ton of energy, and loves to move around. We have a 6.6 x 10 ft memory foam mat with a play yard fence around it for him to play. I was thinking of buying an indoor baby slide playset to put in there. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was looking at the plastic ones with the basketball hoop and the telescope lol. Thank you!

No Sensation

I have a stage II cystocele, rectocele, and uterine prolapse and am almost 9 months postpartum, still breastfeeding. I did pelvic floor therapy for months prior to delivery and months after and stopped because it got expensive and I was having no results. I scheduled with someone new in network who is supposed to be good, but they can’t see me until late August. I started Pilates and have been religiously doing this since February. I also wear a size 7 dish pessary. It has become incredibly clear to me that I no longer have any sensation - not clitoral or anything. Is this from the prolapse? Is it fixable? I’m so upset.
