I honestly didn’t expect this to happen still, but in the MySkoda App the update to 5.6.4 days a now announced for the coming days (likely weeks based on past experience). My Elroq was produced in April 2025 (delivered with 5.4) and received the update to 5.4.4 (OTA).

Over-the-Air Update: 5.6.4
This update brings minor optimizations to the functionality of your vehicle. The update is free of charge and does not use any purchased data. Installation takes approximately 20 minutes.
Installing this update is a prerequisite for all future Over-the-Air updates containing new improvements for your vehicle.
During installation, the vehicle cannot be driven or charged. The vehicle must be locked and vacated for the installation to start.
The software update will be available for two years from the release date. To ensure that your vehicle continues to function optimally, we recommend installing the update promptly. This allows us to continue ensuring the proper functioning and availability of future updates. However, if the update is missed, neither we nor our partners shall be liable for any defects resulting from this.

Notes on functional restrictions and update requirements
If the vehicle is not locked within ten minutes after pressing the installation button, the update will not be completed.
Locking/unlocking the vehicle using KESSY is disabled. The (central) vehicle remote control remains functional throughout the process.
SAFE locking is not activated (the doors can still be opened from inside).
The convenience opening function is disabled (the central locking can be unlocked, but the windows remain closed).
The Coming/Leaving Home function is not activated (all exterior lighting is switched off).
The alarm is disabled, although the LED on the doors continues to flash.
If charging is currently active, the update cannot be installed.
While the update is running, charging the vehicle cannot be activated.
If the vehicle is connected to a wallbox or public charging station, charging may not resume after the update has been completed.
After the Over-the-Air update
Locking/unlocking the vehicle using KESSY is disabled. The (central) vehicle remote control must be used to unlock the vehicle for the first time.
Before the first start, a bulb-failure warning indicator may illuminate. This warning is caused by the initial system initialization and does not affect the functionality of the vehicle’s lighting. The warning will disappear once the vehicle is switched to the drive-ready “Ready” state. If it does not, please contact your Škoda service partner.
If you experience any problems with the update, please contact your Škoda service partner.

MyŠkoda Club Germany: spend Points finally active

Finally the MySkoda Club has some redeem options available. Of course it‘s likely not useful for anyone yet (as the services are already included for the first three years if I‘m not wrong), but at least they started with offering something for the points now.

Gauntlet Store Issue compensation pop-up: nothing whatsover

I just got an empty pop-up titled „Gauntlet Store Issue compensation“. The pop-up was empty content wise though. Maybe that‘s also the intended GL statement 😁😁. Please post a screenshot if you got the same (I didn‘t take a screenshot myself unfortunately).

Multiple food allergies not matching to Lufthansa special meals

What to do when you have multiple allergies that neither special menu fits? For me, food needs to be gluten free (GFML) and dairy free (e.g. Vegan meal would work, despite that I do eat meat, eggs & fish). I’m pretty sure that there are other combination not covered by special meals available from LH. GFML can contain dairy (and almost all GFML food items did when flying Europe to Asia), vegan can contain gluten.

So if you have multiple allergies, then the only way is to choose one menu fitting to one of the allergies and then ask to get the dietary restriction added as comment to the PNR, very likely this won‘t be confirmed though. This kind of worked for me (main dishes were fine, despite allergens not being defined per item or on the packaging), but it‘s something which isn‘t properly foreseen. Recommendation from the travel agency was to bring own food as backup.

Of course adding a special meal also kills any chances of free or paid upgrades at the gate, as special meals depend on your class of travel.

Does anyone else have a better solution than what‘s outlined above?

Brass boiler + brewgroup costs for new classic - when will it go down?

Cost is hovering for about 320 Euros (170 + 150 Euros)for a long while now. Are there any chances of the price going down anytime soon? Brass isn‘t that expensive after all.

Taxikosten DE vs. AT (Wien)

Moin,

Innenstadt 3km
**Stadt & Preis**
Wien **6,65 €**
Stuttgart 13,20 €
Hamburg 12,60 €
Berlin 12,70 € (Hinweis: Kurzstrecke bis 2km: 6,00 Euro).
München 14,00 €

Stadtfahrt (8km)
**Stadt & Preis**
Wien **10,29 €**
Stuttgart 25,20 €
Hamburg 26,10 €
Berlin 25,20 €
München 27,50 €

Längere Fahrt (15km)
**Stadt & Preis**
Wien **14,35 €**
Hamburg 44,50 €
Stuttgart 43,70 €
Berlin 39,90 €
München 46,40 €

Spritkosten weichen etwas ab, aber bei weitem nicht so stark wie die Taxipreise.
