US killed the US business of Polestar long ago

A lot of people speculated that Polestar was just waiting for this us government decision to get out of the US but frankly the US killed their US business a long time ago. This was the final nail in the coffin.

US killed their first volume model - the P2. Now they are killing their other volume model, the P4. The brand can’t survive on just the P3 in the US, even if it didn’t have all the growing pains for that model.

Polestar itself is doing fine, they will just withdraw from the US and kill their P3 production here. Like they said, 94% of their business is elsewhere.

We in the US will be in fact negatively impacted by the lack of EV competition.

DC charge forever

I live in a condo and even though I have my own deeded parking spot, I don’t have a charger.

So since I got the P3 15 months ago, I just DC charge, most often at a 62.5kw chargepoint spot.

I never bother to charge to 80 or more… unless I am going on a trip.

Before this I had a P2, same m.o.

I read that below 100kw it’s fine no battery degradation compared to L2 charging. even above 100 it was miniscule.

So, since the terrible news for US polestar owners, I’m thinking I need to pamper this car so it survives this and the next administration 😂

Am I good to charge at my beloved ChargePoint spot forever?

Beware SUVs and Trucks. They can’t see you.

Saw this tiny lady drive a lifted truck to Whole Foods. She climbed down, like from a ladder … her head was lower than the hood of the truck. Par for the course, right, Murica!!!

But there are reasonable people here too. And they went and studied how deadly these SUVs and trucks are.

We already knew it, but here it is, with science:

20% drain - AC on all day/night ?

I noticed my P3 had gone from 34% to 14% over 24 hours and freaked out… then went to the garage to check the car and I saw a decent amount of water under the car that I touched and smelled and felt to me like water. Didn’t taste test it !!!

So I think I inadvertently left the AC on the whole time? it’s between 20 and 30 celcius during 24hrs here

I went then and charged the car to like 48% and made sure to turn the climate off - no drain overnight and car looks and drives and behaves normal.

I can’t find anything on the car logs tho to confirm my theory.

what do you think happened?

People know Polestar

(In the US)

A few times this month people have approached to ask me about my experience with the P3. And today while waiting on a breakfast order with my car parked outside, a couple was walking past and the man started explaining to his partner that Polestar was a sister company to Volvo !!

Progress!!
