Why do companies keep asking for nationality and my background?

Is this not discrimination in the hiring place? Whether I am white, black, yellow, rainbow, from Iran should not matter but they keep asking!!

Edit: I mean not passport nationality, but like cultural nationality.
At the end of the application (where they have already confirmed my residency status) they always ask

Are you gay?
What is your ethnic background?

Hi, I bought the MBA M4 around 6 months ago.

Since then, I have found the charging very suspicious. For context, I alternate between 3 charging areas and found my Mac to not charge properly unless using the charging block that it came with.

My other 2 charging areas uses my old 90W charger with came with my old Mac Book Pro, and my other station uses a normal iPhone charger.

All 3 which should charge my Mac, however only the charging adapter which came with my MBA M4 charges.

The other 2 will not increase the charge on my Mac unless my Mac is turned off / sleep. If I am charging while using my Mac, the battery will stay the same. If my Mac is dead, those 2 charging adapters will not turn on my Mac until I connect to the MBA M4 35W Dual adapter. Otherwise, with the 2 other charging adapters, with my Mac turned off / sleep it will take over 9 hours to charge. Sometimes I leave it to charge over night, and I wake up to it not fully charged. I have tried changing the cord around and the issue remains.

All charging adapters and cords are genuine Apple products.

Has anyone had this problem before or know why?

Do coffee chats actually work?
Does it result in higher chances of internships / jobs?
Is it worth trying to find a coffee chat with a recruiter / manager?

It sounds so awkward. Formal small talk with a fella 10 years older than you.

For those who have worked / are working in the super industry, what path did it take to get there?
Why did you choose it / leave it ?

There are not as many entry / junior Actuarial positions in the super industry compared to other Actuarial industries. Please share your experiences!!
